A New Beginning
"Katie!" my mom called in a loud voice. I hurriedly ran down the stairs to answer the call,
"Yes mom!" I answered
My mom always loved things done by arrangement and was almost always prepared for any situation and our current situation was unpacking our belongings into our new home.
She had a whole list of things to unpack and where they would be placed. I was asked a series of questions to confirm where I would place some things. "Katie, when was your last Flow? " she asked
why does she ask me that question?
"last week " I replied as she nodded her head to my reply, then it all came together on why she was asking, she was making a mental note of the number of sanitary pads she would buy over the course of our stay in our new home. "Make sure to tell me when you need one OK?! " she firmly told me. I nodded before leaving to my room, my lovely humongous room, I looked round my room wondering were I should start arranging my stuffs in, do I start in the drawers? Closets? Medicine cabinet? Bed? Wall? Well I had the whole weekend to figure it out.
At last our home was finally organized, no lost underwear to find or a favorite clothe to look for, they were, where they were meant to be in just the right places. I smiled moving over to the living room to enjoy some solitude in the comfort of our sofa with some snacks while watching my favorite sitcom before I was interrupted by my mom relaying a message sent by my dad on the phone, since he hasn't been around since our relocation, still busy with work as usual.
In his message my mom read:
"I had filled a form for your admission into Crystal Highschool my baby girl and you would begin tomorrow, hope you do fit in unlike the others, love you and your mother"
"First and foremost I'm no longer a baby and second What!!!!!?, tomorrow, but....but....is this another place where I should spend my blasted school days in and then we take off like its the next flight to paradise? " I queried my dad's message, clearly upset. My mom assured me :"Katie dear, it's just for the time being, and your dad promised you, we would stay longer in this neighborhood than the other previous locations and besides your lovable mother is always with you, when you need help, supermom is here to save your day" as she said the latter part, she hugged me tightly, like a toddler but as long as its my mom I didn't mind.what will I do without her?
