The Caged Peacock- Beauty lies within. EPISODE 8
After some few weeks, we were told the result for the National Science Competition was out and our teacher was checking it. I was called in the class to meet the exam officer who was my math teacher, Mal.Ibrahim. He was just like a father to me as he helped me in facing my academic issues at school. When I went into his office, I saw other students inside waiting for their results. It gladdened my heart when I was told I qualified the second time but this time, only two of us out of 28 qualified. I didn't just qualified but I came 3rd position, I was overwhelmed with joy as we prepared for the second round. I and Afnan, the student who also qualified were accompanied by Mal.Ibrahim and the principal. After writing the second round, we were given certificates and I was given a medal, a bronze medal. I never saw something like that in my life. I was so happy at least my parents would be happy and proud of me.
After that competition, we were registered for another competition. We wentand we did our best as we came 4th in quiz which I participated, 2nd in debate, 2nd in imprumptu and so on. We were all celebrated. We were also preparing for our mork exams which was the last exam for that year. We all did our best and waited for the D-day. Unfortunately I was having acompetition on the D-day so I was only present for 2 hours. On that faithful day, every one looked dazzling since it was Jss3 celebration. We that participated in various competitions were invited to the atage and the director broke the egg. He had given us the first term tuition fees scholarship. I was very happy, at least a helping had for my dad. Three of us were then called from stage to attend the competition while the graduation went on. I never knew it was a lucky day for me until I returned to school and everybody started to congratulate me. What happened?
