How Do I Come to Love God
#DoYouReallyLoveGod

We need to love the Lord with all our heart, our soul, our mind and our strength...
But how do we do this?

First we must recognize that no man in His own self can love God.

Yes! No man can OF HIS OWN SELF love God.

1 John 4:19
[19]We love him, because he first loved us.

It is not we who have first loved God. It is God who has first loved us and sent His Son to pay the ransom that Satan demanded for our sinful souls: our death.

John 3:16
[16]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 4:9-11

[9]In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
[10]Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

God was in His Son. It was not just the Son of God who was crucified for us but God Himself who paid the price for sin.*(see Footnote)

He who was without SIN became SIN for us that we might be made HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.

2 Corinthians 5:21

[21]"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

He traded our sin for His righteousness and took our sin to the cross and died there with it that we, who believe in Him, might be free from it.

Colossians 2:14

[14]"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"

Romans 6:6-8

[6] Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

[7] For he that is dead (being crucified with Him) is freed from sin.

[18]My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.[8] Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Then He rose again and sent His Spirit to dwell in our hearts to quicken us (make us alive) from our sin (which brought death to our souls) and give to us His Own Life: Eternal Life which is His Righteousness.

Ephesians 2:5-6

[5}Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us (made us alive) together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

[6]And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Romans 8:10

[10]"And if  (the Spirit of) Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness."

This love was manifested to us even when we were undeserving of this love

Rom 5:8

[8]But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

In fact, before the foundation of the world we were chosen to be His children and to express His love.

1 John 3:1

[1]Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Ephesians 1:4-6

[4]According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
[5]Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
[6]To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Consider what it means to be a child of God.

A child holds the attributes of His father. All that His father is has been placed within the child.

All that the father is will be manifested in the child. EVERY ATTRIBUTE.

(Consider that God did not produce us SEXUALLY for we were created by His SPOKEN WORD. Therefore we must have been created ASEXUALLY. If you remember your science lessons the offspring that is produced asexually is genetically identical to its parent.)

If God loves us so should we not also love Him and others the same?

1 John 4:11

[11]Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
