A Perfect Gentleman
( Recently, this short story/ memoir was selected by Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration for its journal, "Safarnama". Hence, re-posting the same which is based on personal experience)

(Do you recall having a grudge towards someone in the past? What difference does it make now? I share my experience in the form of this short story.)

“Why is this dusky old man always after me?”, I used to question myself. An old man in late sixties had been frequenting my office for the last three months. On every Monday, sharp at 10 am, he used to barge into my chamber.
“Why don’t you release my compensation amount? My land has been acquired by your office for the hydro-project. I want my compensation in cash. I am not supposed to beg before you for my own money”, he always resorted to shouting in utter annoyance.
