Promise Chapter 4
AT THE ROOFTOP
Ethan sat at the rooftop's of Lyra's home. He's gaze is directed to the starry skies in which he closed his eyes
" I can't believe I wasn't able to tell her, I'm such an idiot." Ethan sighed.
FLASHBACK
" Because I've fallen in love with you. " is what Ethan wanted to say but once he opened his mouth to speak what came out is different.
" Because I don't want you to be angry at me for wanting to travel around the region. I- I've always dream of travelling around different regions and discover something new." Ethan solemnly said.
" Was it worth it?" Lyra mumbled.
" W-what?"
" Was it worth it?" Lyra said louder than the last time.
" To be honest it wasn't worth it because I lost you in the process. I was so caught up on being the best and beating Silver that I've started to forget you. A-and I hate myself for it. A-and I'm sorry for breaking a lot of our promise. I'm sorry" Ethan hug her tigher while seething. Lyra was wide eyed at what she heard.
" Please let me go." Lyra mumbled, Ethan was hesitant at first but Lyra reassured him by saying, " I won't run away, I promise." Ethan sighed and let her go. Lyra took two step backwards creating some distance between her and Ethan.
Lyra look at Ethan's eyes directly in which made Lyra's expression soften saying, " A lot had change between us, even I change and U thought you've change too, but I was wrong, you're still the same Ethan I remember, the Ethan with the same look as before since we first met."
Lyra suddenly ran to Ethan and hugging him Ethan almost lost his balance but he manage to support both their weight. Lyra burried her face on Ethan's chest with both her hands on the back of Ethan's neck. Ethan was left speechless at what happened. After a few moment Ethan returned the gesture by placing both his hands at the back of Lyra's hips. Ethan move Lyra's body closer to his in which soothed Lyra.
" I-I m-miss y-you Et-Ethan." Lyra sobbed.
" P-plea-please d-don't e-e-ever le-leave m-me a-again."
" I won't Lyra, I won't ever leave you again, not this time and certainly not ever. " Ethan told Lyra firmly.
END OF FLASHBACK
"Ethan?" A voice called snapping Ethan from his thoughts. Ethan turned around and see Lyra rubbing her eyes.with her yellow pajamas with Marill as the design. Ethan blush at how cute Lyra is at her outfit.
"M-mind if I join you, Ethan?" Lyra asked shyly which made Ethan smile.
"Sure." Ethans said smiling, Lyra then took a sit near Ethan hugging her knees near to her chest. Lyra look up the starry sky and Ethan follwed after that.
" It's beautiful isn't it, I miss stargazing or watching the sunset with you." Ethan said.
"Y-yeah, I m-miss it t-too. " Lyra shivered which makes Ethan laugh a bit. Noticing Ethan laughing ay her she look away trying to hide her embarrased face. Ethan took off his jacket and put it on Lyra's back.
Lyra look at Ethan smiling while mouthing a thank you which make's Ethan blush a little. They move their attention back to the night sky. Ethan felt a weighg on his shoulder only to see Lyra's head on top of his shoulders, which made his smile broaden.
" You know I wish things would stay like this between us from now on.
With you by my side and me by yours." Lyra said happily with her eyes close.
" Me too Lyra, me too." Ethan said gleefully.
" Ethan, I- "
Ethan waited for Lyra to continue what she was about to say and him growing impatient look at Lyra only to see. Lyra already asleep on his shoulder. Ethan carefully put his arm to Lyra's shoulder and carefully pulling her close in his.
As he continue to look up the beautiful night sky he heard Lyra mumbles in her sleep making him to look at the sleeping girl.
"Man, she's so cute." Ethan thought while blushing
" I love you." Ethan was snapped by his thoughts as he heard what Lyra said. He was shocked at what he heard but then a question suddenly pop into his head making him panicked.
But all his worry vanished when Lyra utters a single name which makes his heart flutter.
"Ethan."
Ethan with a little tint of red on his face smiles at the girl who captured his heart many years ago and gently whispered, "You may not hear me Lyra but I also love you more than you'll ever know."
Ethan rubbed the back of his neck nervously with his free hand saying " I was selfish to leave you, but I thought it would be best for us,for me because it was clear to me you would never love me the same way. But I guess I was wrong."
"But I was wrong, it only makes me love you more as the time passes by and I was a fool for only thinking about myself." He continued.
"But I promise you this Lyra, I would never leave you ever again and that's a promise that I'll make sure I'm going to keep no matter what." He stated.
Ethan look at the skies, closing his eyes and saying, "And maybe someday i would be able to confess to you."
