'Raksha Bandhan'meaning and some myths!
My dear fellow writers, tomorrow is 'Raksha Bandhan'which is celebrated all over India. It's no less than a festival for us,there is no barrier of age, language, religion, gender to enjoy the whole day. In India, every sister waits for this day to get gifts from their brothers. That's it..This is it!! Wait,it's just a part of this amazing festival.Do you know, though these days it is only celebrated between brothers and sisters..But it's partially correct only.. According to Indian mythology, lord Indra's wife Indrani first tied a sacred thread in her husband's hand so he can win against 'asur' aka evils. After that we can see many examples like lord Vishnu's wife Goddess Laxmi tied Rakhi in king Bali's hand, in Mahabharata Draupadi tied 'rakhi' in Krishna's hand. Krishna protected her during her 'bastraharan'. In English language 'raksha' means protection and 'bandhan' means bond. Sister ties 'rakhi' in brother's hand and for this brother swear to protect her from everything. But it doesn't need to be a brother or sister to tie 'rakhi'. Anybody can tie 'rakhi' to other people, he or she can be a friend, husband, boyfriend, wife, girlfriend, sister, brother anybody!! Yes, in exchange you swear to protect him or her by your life if needed. It's just not a simple thread, it's an eternal bond of love, trust, joy towards each other. During this small time, I have made many sweet brothers, sisters, diis and friends.I am wishing all of them a very happy 'Raksha Bandhan'. My words can't describe how much you all mean to me. Maybe my wish is virtual but trust me my emotion is real. Maybe I am not near you but that doesn't mean I do not care or love you all. It's a bonding that I am sharing with you all. We may not have blood relations but still we are all together. So, this 'Raksha Bandhan',break all the taboo about Rakhi and wish each other freely. In my school days it was the nightmare of all boys that what if their crush tie a rakhi in their hands, they would become brother and sister..So, we bunked tution classes and school to avoid this problem. But now you all know 'rakhi' is your trust towards your love ones. So again wishing you all a happy 'raksha bandhan'. Take the oath of protecting others, it's not your weakness it's your love towards them.#realwriting
