The corpse's wisdom
In the dimly lit room,
amidst the sombre silence,
a lifeless body of the most beautiful woman lay.
A corpse which was a breathing beauty only a day ago. The body was kept here in the operation theater on a ventilator and not in a mortuary because it was the body of a brain dead person and a few organs had to be retrieved.
I, Dr. Akash was here to perform its postmortem along with my colleague, Dr.Sarita.
This was going to be her very first time; when Sarita would have to open up a dead body.
I could sense the tension in the air. I was thinking how to break the ice between both of us and make her feel like it's normal work.
Suddenly, I noticed the light bulbs of the theatre had started flickering.
Before I could gather myself and call someone to check the reason behind the low voltage electricity.
I saw a trembling Sarita gaping at the corpse with her mouth wide open.
The corpse eyes had opened widely and were fixed on the ceiling.
Strangely I was frozen and didn't know what to say or do and was simply shifting my gaze from the corpse to Dr.Sarita.
