It was summer.
I never liked summer-even when I was a kid.
There is always too much free time and we end up doing almost nothing of the things we've planned.
I didn't like plans either.
I couldn't stand being afraid that they might get canceled.

We had plans for holidays.
The day before I went shopping-I've always liked the combination of new clothes and new memories.

I took a ride to your place. We used to spend nights together.
I found you there.
You've been holding your head with both of your hands.
You said that we couldn't go on vacation.
I asked if there was something wrong.
You didn't answer.
I came closer. I took your hands off of your face and looked through your eyes.
I asked again,
" what's going on?"
You asked me to leave.
I got more upset and confused.
Then you turned your back at me and shouted:
"I'm in love with someone else!"

I started running. I got in my car and started driving fast.
Tears were falling and I could hardly breathe.
The car accelerated before the signal turned green.

I got home and checked my phone.
There were messages sent from our holiday reservation.
The messages added salt to wounds.

I looked at my bookcase- our bookcase.
You bought me books and I was reading outloud because you loved learning but hated reading.
I took each book you bought and put it in the suitcase with everything else that reminded me of you.
That suitcase I used to take on our adventures.
An empty suitcase full of memories.

Then I cleaned up the bookcase.
A dust free bookcase could hide a lot of lies.
It's gonna be like you and your books never existed.
I threw the suitcase at the garbage.
I fell down exhausted at my apartment crying till I fell asleep.

The day after,I woke up feeling empty.
I looked around.
It was just me,
My books,
My music,
My paintings on the wall and
A wardrobe full of clothes that still had their tags on.
