Trip Buddies
We'd both had hard times come our way-- I already rode my wave and found happiness, and I hoped I could help them do the same. I didn't realize at the time I was just enabling them to do whatever they'd want in the end, finally breaking my patience and charity till there was nothing left to fix, but I wouldn't find that out till later on. At this moment, we were enjoying the different experiences the caps we'd eaten were giving us, watching a documentary about psychedelics helping people.
It was fun, till I realized the immediate aftermath-- but I wouldn't realize it till the fog of the "3-D like effect" of the trip would wear off. We weren't the same, but I wouldn't realize that till my own trip of trusting them would wear down, just like the trip of the caps.
Sometimes you think you know a person, only to find out they aren't. You feel like you're coming out of a trip with them, but really they've been themselves this whole time. They're doing completely okay, meanwhile you shake all over, wishing the aftermath of your carelessness would go away.
I may be faced with recovering from the rocky aftermath and moving forward, but the trip is fun until it isn't anymore.
