Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psa 1:4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

This psalm describes a blessed man.

He is a man who:
- forsakes ungodly counsel (that is, sayings or teachings that is not of God or not in agreement with the Word of God);
- does not stand in the way of those who sin against God (that is he does not remain in the course of life of sinners to live the way they live or do as they do;
- who does not sit in the seat of the scornful (as one who judges with haughty contempt and derision);
- who delights himself not in ungodly sayings or actions or attitudes but in the law of the Lord which is the Word of God.
-who meditates upon the Word of God (and nothing contrary to it) day and night.

Such a man who turns from ungodly sayings, doings and thinking and derives his joy from and wholly devotes himself to the Word of God will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.

This term rivers of water bears similarity to the phrase rivers of living water used by Jesus.

John 7:38-39
[38]He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
[39](But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

So a man who separates himself utterly from things that are not of God (refusing to speak, do or think as the ungodly do) and wholly delights and devotes himself to the things of God will be the man who receives the Spirit of God.

This is again echoed in another scripture that speaks of receiving the Spirit of God.

Eze 36:23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. Eze 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Eze 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Note that God says that Israel has defiled his name but he will sanctify His name.
How does He do this?
First, He utterly separates Israel from the ungodly nations.
Then He washes her of her filthiness and her idols.

This filthiness has come about from worshipping idols or other gods.

Worship has two elements:
-Worshipping under the anointing of a spirit
- Worshipping according to teachings or actions

John 4:23-24
[23]But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
[24]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God requires that we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
This is His Spirit and His Truth.

His Truth is His Word.
John 17:17
[17]Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

His Truth (words) are closely linked to His Spirit and His Spirit brings His Life.
John 6:63
[63]It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

After God has separates and washed Israel (remember God sanctifies through His Truth), He promises to give Israel a new heart, a new spirit and then He will put His Spirit within them which would cause them to walk in His commandments or His Words.

We see then that we are made to be vessels or temples for the Living God.

2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and my daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

And being that He desires to dwell in our temples and be our Father and we to be His children, He must first separate us and sanctify (cleanse) us so that we would be fit for His dwelling.

Since His Words sanctify, being pure, we are made unclean or defiled by teachings that are contrary to His Words.

Psalms 119:1-3,9-11
[1]ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
[2]Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
[3]They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
[9]BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
[10]With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
[11]Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Thus He calls for us to separate ourselves from unclean things: these things being unclean teachings or messages which lead to unclean thoughts which lead to unclean words which leads to unclean deeds which lead to an unclean temple.

Now remember Jesus said that His Words are Spirit and Life?

Are not then the words that are contrary to His Words the words of Satan and his devils and do they not carry his spirit and his life?

1 Corinthians 10:20-23
[20]But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
[21]Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
[22]Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
[23]All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Here Paul tells us that the sacrifices or offerings of the ungodly Gentiles are made unto Satan and these drink of the cup of and eat of the table of devils.

To understand what a sacrifice to the devil is, we must examine what a sacrifice to the Lord is:

Romans 12:1-2
[1]I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[2]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Our lives are a sacrifice. A holy sacrifice is a life that proves what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Doing the will of God and walking in complete obedience to His Word is a holy sacrifice.

A sacrifice to devils then is a life lived in disobedience to the perfect Will or Word of God.

What does it mean to drink of the cup of the Lord and partake of the Lord's table?

1 Corinthians 10:3-9
[3]And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
[4]And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

We see hear that to drink of the cup of the Lord implies partaking (drinking) of the Spirit of Christ.

But what is to eat spiritual meat?

Hebrews 5:12
[12]For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Spiritual meat then refers to spiritual teachings or spiritual principles.

Just as the teachings (Words) of Jesus brought His Spirit and Life, so too do teachings that are contrary to the Word of God bring the spirit of the devil and his life upon you.

Just as the teachings of God purify or cleanse, the teachings that are not of God defile and make unclean with the spirit of the antichrist (or Devil).

To take heed to (i.e. to think on, speak of and act according to) teachings that are contrary to the Word of God (or ungodly) are to take heed to take heed to the teachings of devils and to therefore subject oneself to the spirit and life of the devil.

It is evil, seducing spirits that turn one away from the Word of God to teachings contrary to the Word of God: to doctrines of devils.

1 Timothy 4:1
[1]Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Now what are these doctrines of devils?

The scripture is full of examples.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

18. lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; putting pleasure and self-satisfaction before God
19. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, i.e. appearing religious or holy but devoid of the Life of Jesus Christ, living in sin

from such turn away.

Romans 1:28-32
[28]And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
[29]Being filled with all: unrighteousness, i.e. unjust
fornication, i.e. adultery and incest

covetousness,
maliciousness; i.e. trouble or naughtiness

unmerciful: without mercy which requires forbearance and compassion
[32]Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (i.e. delight or laugh when seeing these things done)

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
[9]Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:
neither fornicators, i.e. natural or spiritual adulterers or those that lust afyer evil things
nor idolaters, i.e. worshipping an image, creature or person other than God or hearing the Word of God but not obeying it from the heart
nor adulterers, i.e., apostate or those who forsake the teachings of God for the teachings of devils
nor effeminate, i.e., men who are womanly
nor abusers of themselves with mankind, i.e., homosexuals or those that engage in beastiality.
[10]Nor thieves, i.e., those that take what was not rightfully theirs.
nor covetous,
nor drunkards, i.e., using alcohol oitside of what is permitted in the bible.
nor revilers, i.e., abusive or a person of stained or low character.
nor extortioners, i.e. seizing by trickery, voilence or force,

shall inherit the kingdom of God.

This list is by no means complete but are given for examples of teachings that are ungodly.

Any thought, word or deed that promotes tbese things are ungodly teachings that, when believed and obeyed will cause the life of an evil spirit to enter you.

By submitting to these teachings you become a temple or dwelling place of evil spirits.

Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Rev 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Obedience to these teachings is comsidered spiritual fornication in the eyes of God for it results in devils filling the place where God was intended to dwell because of the persons love for these teachings.

Hosea 4:12-13
[12]My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
[13]They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow ther
