Taste of Fire
Pungent, toxic steps, just a little, starting from some abandoned tiny pebbles, I managed to walk to the hard ridges of the scattered rocks.
Looking forward, I'm restless, still got a journey remaining...
To reach the foremost apex of the enormous boulders.
Must be a pretty little journey when said like a tattletale.

Even when..
my feet were shaky, awaiting for the upcoming, enraged waves to wash me off the shore,

Even when..
the sun decided to bury me alive as it trickled it's scorching, penetrating rays on my battered, exhausted body,

Even when..
the tears on my dull cheeks went extinct and when the tear glands and ducts had no more teardrops left,

Even when..
life played me like a mere, dirty football on the paved, rigid ground,

Even when..
my harsh breaths slithered their way up to my aching throat, nearly making me choke on them,

Even when..
my legs gave out and relied their strength on my beaten bones,

I've managed to make it through.
I've managed to stay strong and not bow down.

Well, I guess I had a taste of the fire of life.
I've burned in it.

I can proudly say, **I'm a Survivor.**
