Somewhere On The Prairie
Heading to the West from the Big Woods of Wisconsin, Ma was singing while Pa was whistling
I was crocheting and I laid my back
Packed my dolls and sweater and Carrie's little truck

On the way on the national road
I saw a boy in a plaid shirt with his shoulders broad
He smiled at me and I nod my head
But Pa said, "Hush my dear, you're only twelve".

Why does it's got to be like this?
I can't love somebody else
Boy, you're the only one I want
When I'm with you, I feel perfectly fine
Thy will be done, but you're coming like a madman
Come and find me, somewhere on the prairie.

It was almost sunset when we got to our place
I saw a trail of Indians with papooses hiding their face
When my eyes followed the trail, I saw him again
I can imagine myself in a river of barren

His beautiful eyes were blinded by the solar light
And his cheeks were like peppered moth
Oh God, he's too perfect for me to complain
The ambiance and scenario that I loved both

Why does it's got to be like this?
I can't love somebody else
Boy, you're the only one I love
Just like the feathers of a dove
Thy will be done, but you're running like a countryman
Come and get me, somewhere on the prairie.

And finally, we met each other at the town's festival
Stephen Foster gradually sings "Oh Susanna"
You grab my hand and danced on the front porch
Everything was right when you turn on your torch
Oh God, this is what I wanted on my birthday
A boy with a good heart that can light my darkest way
He said, " I love you since we were young "
I replied, " I will love you until the church bells rang ".

I don't know what I'm going to feel
Until you sat and kneel
Asking me if I want to marry you
And I said, " Yes, I do! ".

And we're in the moment we were exchanging vows
Our whole town came and our mamas cried
Horses were drawn and doves were on the lawn

We're catching fish on the barren river
You take my quilt and covered me 'cause I shiver
We sat down between the rocks
We get blinded by the solar light
And I asked you, " Would you come with me? Somewhere on the Prairie. "
