UNDERSTANDING THE BACKGROUND OF STRESS
Stress is a very common problem in almost every person's life whether he is a teen struggling with studies or trying to cope with daily life issues at school/college or an adult facing stress due to work.

There are three main types of stress that may occur in our everyday lives: such as acute, acute episodic and chronic stress at persistent events..

Many of us may have experienced a mix of these three types.

Our bodies reacts to various types of stress with the similar method, which occurs regardless if the stress arises from a real or perceived event.

Hormones are released which starts several actions within few seconds: pumping our blood and oxygen quickly to the body cells, increasing the heart rate and mental alertness.

A very small part of the brain we call it hypothalamus, makes the reaction and communicates with the body through the automomic nervous system which signals our nerves and the hormones, located on the top of each kidney, to release a hormone called adrenaline in the blood.

Adrenaline increasing the heart rate blood pressure so more blood circulates to the muscles and heart to support a boost of energy..

With acute stress, the event is brief and hormone levels will gradually return to normal. Acute episodic and chronic stress repeatedly trigger the fight-or-flight response causing a persistent elevation of hormones. It provides the extra energy needed to cope with stressful events.

Research shows that there are some foods such as omega-3 fats and vegetables that may help to regulate cortisol levels. Meditation or deep breathing techniques can help reduce stress..
