Coming to the Kingdom
#WritcoStoryPrompt36
Write a short story that uses atleast two of the given situations:
1. An old, locked box in the attic.
2. A winding staircase that goes nowhere.
3. A broken mirror.
4. An old desk with a locked drawer.

Darlene Dragonfairy went up the winding staircase. At first, she thought, This staircase goes nowhere. Then more stairs appeared. Darlene climbed the stairs and pulled open the attic door. She held up her wand saying, "Lumos!" Darlene's wand lit. Darlene repeated the word three more times. She could now see clearly as she looked around. A broken mirror was on the floor. Darlene picked up a locked box saying, "Alohomora!" The box unlocked. Inside the box was a map. Darlene put that in her right pant pocket. She walked to a desk and used the above spell to unlock a drawer. Darlene picked up a book about how to generate portals. She took it to her dormitory. Darlene studied that book. Then, she generated a portal and ended up in a different realm. Merlin said, "You've broken rules to get here. You were not supposed to enter that attic, nor were you allowed to go up the stairs after you revealed them." Darlene blushed; she wasn't about to argue. Merlin said, "I do not know how to get you back to the realm you came from. For now, you will have to stay here in the Magic Kingdom." Darlene wondered what her family was doing now. Merlin said, "Follow the Never Sprites." Darlene saw small, child-like purple creatures. They had black antennas; their hair was in all colors. They had brown eyes and rosy cheeks. The Sprites had orange furry ears. Their clothes were colorful too. Darlene followed them. They showed her the lit parts of the Kingdom. The Sprites wouldn't go into the dark parts.
