Rice Cakes // Jimin ff series// episode 1
Strolling down the dark alley, she took out a lighter to light the cigar trapped between her sugary lips.

It was her 18th birthday and she was supposed to move out of the orphanage which had
been her habitat since she was five. She could never understand why was she left behind
when all her mates managed to have foster families. Pumping out a sigh, she drew circles of fume. All she needed was to find a job and a place to live.

The old lady sat on the stale table with a man opposing her. There was disagreement over their faces.

"I will pay you the rent soon. You should know that people these days don't like eating rice cakes.", she sighed.

"You are already so old Ajhumma, Why don't you tell your Grandson to have one more part-time job?".

"Don't bring him in between! I want him to follow his passion", She roared making the man sigh in defeat.

Long hours invested in searching for a job bore no fruit. Frustration engulfed your being. You silently trudged into a small sweet shop to have some refreshment.

"Oh, Young girl! You look so tired. Have a seat, I will bring you some rice cakes to eat.",
cooed an old woman in her sixties. You just nodded and took a place.

Closing your eyes, you saw darkness which was enough to scare away worries. Your therapist thoughts were offended by a fluffy voice, "Miss, Your rice cakes."You turned your head towards him and your hormones rushed to urge you to glance at
him again.

His eyes radiated soft enticing energy. His cherry soft kissable lips curved into a small smile. Only If Diana knew about him, She would come to him every night. Placing his best manners, he entertained the rest barely interested customers in the shop.

"Granny, are there any deliveries today?", he asked making me drool over his honey-like voice.

"There are some but you need not do it, You haven't slept from last night, Jimin!"

Dashing through the counter, he glanced at a notepad and picked up the crates. Resting a sweet peck over the old lady's cheek, he hurried to deliver the cartons.

"Adorable"

"This was the last shop for today but I couldn't get any Vacancy."

Confusion and despair weighed my head down.

Glancing at shops side to side, an insignificant dance studio caught my interest. I cannot dance but I love to see people stepping to beats of music. Having nothing to do
further, the idea of seeing them didn't seem awful after all.

Hearing the screeching of the feet over the floor one could distinctively figure out the
efforts of the dancer inside the room. Peeking through the door, I could see a boy performing his art. His reflection in the studio mirror revealed that he was the same
Rice Cake lad I met this noon. Will Shakespeare be able to describe his beauty as good
as he did for his leads?

"Why are you always late for the practice Jimin?". I heard certain sounds from the room.

"I am sorry, I had to do some deliveries. I will make sure to be on time", he eye smiled.

" Why don't you just hire someone to help your granny? The competition is so near."
Jimin was silenced.

"We don't have money to pay the rent of the shop, so hiring someone is beyond reach."

I entered Jimin's shop in the hope to see him again. Stealing glances won't hurt anyone.
I got hired as a waitress at a minor bakery now I needed a place to live.

"Why don't you rent out the storeroom? at least you will have some money!", a lady suggested seeing the old owner of the shop drained of work.

"Who will like to live in that storeroom? Moreover, Jimin is too shy to share a roof with strangers."

"May I rent that room?", I blurted out. The old lady was taken aback by my proposal.

" Really? but the room is too small!". I smiled and nodded in affirmative action.
But I need to talk to my grandson if you don't mind, pretty girl.

"Oh, come on! Jimin is a young lad now. Why will he be against a beautiful girl living
in his house", the other woman dished out-earning her a glare from the old lady.

I could see the dissatisfaction on Jimin's face when I shifted into this room. Something
in me wanted to see him every day. I used to watch his dance sessions secretly.
His rebellious nature was surely giving him a hard time. Starting before sunrise he would
make sure to rinse huge tubs of rice for his old granny. From deliveries to dance practices,
never missed any of them. Though being in the same house, we never got a chance to talk.
