Pick your Poison-Chapter 47: I'll kill anyone for you
Chapter 47: I'll kill anyone for u
Dino
Dino's arms came protectively around Meera. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? I'm so sorry!" He said over and over again. Even though it felt like heaven to see Meera again, he was still murderously angry with himself. If anything bad had happened to her, Dino would never forgive himself.
"Dino, I'm fine. Really." She moved back a bit to analyze him. No, he wasn't hurt. He just looked like shit. Real freaking shit, like he'd literally just came out of hell. Dino didn't care though. Meera was safe, that's all that mattered.
He took her small face in his hands, leaned his forehead against hers. "If anything happened to you..." He couldn't even let the words out of his mouth.
Then reality hit back hard like a bitch. Brad Wyatt was still somewhere lurking around this fucking secured house. He'd known instantly that Meera was in here when the guard downstairs asked him to provide some ID before letting him in. Seeing that the document was legit, the dude was still not satisfied; asked Dino to step in front of the camera while he buzzed Wyatt. Dino knew then and there that his girl had to be in the house. Why else would there be so much protection detail going on. Although it did come as a surprise that Wyatt owned his own place uptown.
Footsteps sounded from the same corner Meera entered out from, just harder and louder.
"I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch!" Dino already had his gun out and aimed, ready to shoot. "Sounds like I'm that son of a bitch!" Wyatt came in full view, hands up. He always was the fearless brother. "It's nice to see you too Marshall...and relax, put the gun down before innocent people get hurt."
"Dino, it's okay," Meera touched his arm, "Brad didn't hurt me. He was-" "The hell he didn't! He took you away from me!" He triggered the gun, moving towards Wyatt. "I should've ended you with your brother five years ago. You just a waste of skin!"
Wyatt's jaw clenched, muscles flexing. Nothing changed there. "How about we don't bring Maverick and Tom into this. We both have clearly moved on since that day...can't we just talk?" Talk? The man had jokes and most importantly, he had Meera fooled. Did he have any idea what it felt like to have the love of your life stolen away from you. Every minute was torture, every second felt like he was walking on broken glass. Meera was his life and he almost lost her; there was no way in hell Dino was going to risk that again.
"Screw you Wyatt!" he aimed the gun to Wyatt's forehead. "Dino, stop this!" Meera's honey-like voice pierced through his skin. He had missed that voice. The butt of the gun touched skin but not on the person Dino had intended for. He cursed out loud when Meera let out a scared scream before blocking her eyes with both hands. It hurt more than it should. Just of the sight of her protecting Wyatt cut through him like a thousand knives.
He dropped his hand, his eyes burning with anger. Why the hell was she on his side? Wyatt's pathetic bitchy ass grin appeared. Nothing changed, he still had the same old habits, the same old bullshit.
"Dino, listen to me," Meera's voice was shaky, "Brad is not one of them." "Got that right," Wyatt muttered, stepping behind Meera. He was using her as bait. "He helped me Dino, he saved my life. A lot of times." Yeah, Dino was just not buying that crap.
"Exactly and that's my thanks. A bullet to the head."
"Can you-you not helping!" Meera's brows creased. "I need you to shut up!" She pointed at Brad, then faced Dino again- "and you to listen!" Both men were instantly silenced. And here Dino taught Meera only possessed power over...
