CHAPTER 4
Gillian , woke up late the next morning as she was jet lagged after her long journey.
AFTER, Gillian had her bath she dressed up in a bright yellow maxi dress and went downstairs where the Robert family had just had their breakfast she joined them.
After breakfast the phone rang
Robert's father answered the phone and then handed over to Gillian.
It was her boss Mr.Pinkle.
She was happy when she heard his voice.
He said: GOOD MORNING ! young lady and how are you today.
Gillian said: Yes, I am fine I just woke up late , anyway, how are You?
he answered I am fine , my office seems to be empty without my most priced candidate .
She didn't say anything.
AFTER a while the phone went dead.
Gillian also put the phone down and turned around when she saw her assistant Robert standing with a smile.
Robert, said we have to go and meet the chief in his office.
Gillian said: Yes , of course.
They both then walked towards the car and sat inside, Robert before starting his car asked Gillian are you okay?
she answered yes I am just fine.
He started to drive and in about half an hour they both reached the head office.
They stepped down and went towards the reception .
Robert asked I would like to meet the chief we have an assignment , and I have taken an appointment.
The receptionist said: Yes, I know chief is waiting for you in his office please go up and then turn right.
Robert answered: Thank you.
They both did as the receptionist had
directed.
They reached his office where chief was waiting for them .
They entered and the chief asked them to take their seat.
Gillian, looked straight into the eyes of chief and then saw his name it was
" Ryan Henderson" Assistant commissioner of police.
She was watching him very closely and studying his every movement and body language.
Ryan felt uneasy under her gaze.
he answered quickly " I know you have a lot of questions about the Jim Case.
I will answer each of them.
Ryan with his bony hands handed a red file in which there was all the information.
Name: Jim
Age: 20yrs
Mothers name : Maria
father's name: unknown
place of residence: UK.
In the next paragraph it was about the case:
"Jim a young man of 20yrs had applied for a job in Bernard and Company overseas for the post of Researcher and Crime Reporter, he was working alone when a parcel arrived at his office with his name on it.
When he opened it he found a letter
which READ " PLEASE someone help me".
There was an address and phone number,but through his sources he came to know that something illegal was going on in a place called" Oakland".
Gillian looked up from the file and asked "where is Oakland"?
Ryan answered , I haven't heard the name of this place but one of my police constable told me that Oakland , is a very small town on the outskirts of the city,It does not have many people staying instead there are a few factories.
Gillian, then asked did you try to find out more about this city.
Ryan said: "No" we couldn't because
our communication got cut.
Robert after hearing said: OKay!
we will leave for Oakland tomorrow ,
let's see what we can find there.
