Why I Joined Writco
We've all been through our ups and downs. And in our lives we will continue to have pleasant and challenging times.
As humans, we are built to keep guard and so we tend to focus on the possibility of things going wrong. This survival mode may have saved us thousands of years ago, but it's not necessary to continue in this mindset now. We can learn to focus on the possibility of opportunity and growth in all we do. We can adopt better thinking habits and help each other have quality lives. We can live with more harmony in our world.
To heal from the challenges life presented me with, my search for harmony began and I discovered the concept of personal development. I studied the practices for years. My biggest lesson was learning that change itself was painful, however the rewards were priceless. I found simple ways to adopt better thinking habits, I dug deep to understand how to have a positive outlook, to be confident in my beliefs and understand my values. I started to understand that everyone was someone I could serve and grow from. I found deeper meaning in life and reawaked joy.
After over 10 years of my journey, I realised that personal development never ends. So, I wanted to share my learnings along the way in an easy to read paperback.
Every day I would take notes on paper, ideas, words that signified a learning I wanted to write about and I slowly began concluding the chapters of an unwritten book as quotes.
My search for a digital application begun. I wanted to do this exercise on my phone so I could document my ideas at any time. In the UK I had never heard of such an app like Writco so when I found Writco, I was majorly impressed.
I set up my profile and began posting my quotes daily to help me in preparing my book. I quickly found that there are some amazing users in this application, I quickly felt part of a community of expression and creativity.
I felt that from all I have gained during lockdown to progress on my writing, I should at least let my Writco family know why I am here.
I am here with you and I thank you for being here with me to the end of my first story.
