Tomorrow may [never] come
=prologue=
The rain started pouring as Blake rushed over inside the hospital. She's been carrying grocery bags as she just hurried her way there, to buy some food for her mother who had been sent to the hospital, earlier that day. She never expected it would rain, although she may have heard about the weather check on the news, before she got to work. Yes, she's been working at the hospital and she was even surprise to see her moment there, this morning. And now, she needs to take care of her.
"Hi mom."
"Hey sweetie."
"How are you feeling now?" she ask as she place down the grocery bags she's been carrying.
"I don't need to be in here honey. I am fine."
"Mom, that's what you told me three weeks ago and you ended up the same way, two days after. You know you can't eat with too much fat or stress yourself out." she explained as she massage her temples.
"I'm sorry for worrying you, honey."
"I just don't want seeing you in this kind of situation, mom."
"I know, and I'm sorry."
"Just promise me to follow all of your diet and healthy meals? And avoid things that can trigger your high blood."
"You mean, your dad?"
"So, he's the reason that keeps you so stressed out?"
her mother just shrug. That made her release a long and deep sigh.
"Mom, how many times did we talk to not remember anything in the past?"
"But he's still your dad"
"The 'DAD' that left us for someone who is younger and sexier? The DAD who keeps on drinking and hitting you? The DAD who never paid attention to me?"
"Do you hate him so much?"
Her mother's question made her silent. Her mother was the one who sighed.
"Honey, he is still your father and I loved-"
"Mom, I have a shift to make and you know, we can't take shifts of our own relatives. So, I'm going." she said as she walks out of the room, gently shutting the door behind. she sighed once more as she remembered everything about her dad. She was about to shed a tear when she heard faint, but alarming tone coming from the entrance door. She rushed to it as she found out that someone's been sent to the hospital. She helps them push the bed as she realized ththat the person is bleeding.
"What happened to him?" she ask as she realize it was a man.
"Car accident."
"Sh*t."
As they rush him to the ER, the man was able to open his eyes for a bit as he tries to see what's happening. But as he tries to think, his head would hurt.
He looks to his left as he could visualize Blake's face. He tried to reach for her hand to see if he's still alive. As soon as he touches her hand, she turn her gaze on him and smile sadly.
"You'll be okay. Just stay with us, mister."
hearing her voice makes him somehow have faith that he could live, but hhe knew to himself that is not what he wanted.
anand in that moment, he could feel himself closing his eyes again.
"Just don't give up on us... Just hang on."
