FEAR HAD A FACE.
#WritcoStoryPrompt51 #CovidStories
2020 and 2021 has been a difficult time for everyone but has also helped us connect more with our families. Share your experience in the form of a story about how this scenario shaped your life and you as a person.

I never saw this much change in the negative, coming at me and the world the very way it did. I stayed weeks turned months away from families, friends and loved ones..., I feared for the worse and thought it was the world coming to an unceremonious end. I dreaded being infected, I dreaded things becoming too expensive I might not have been able to afford them....more so I dreaded going out of the house....

it was a lone , deep period...with reflections on life in general, opportunities and jobs; the time and covid took away from me...I heard people wailing, some being told to stay off from work with not much hopes of coming back, I saw and heard mother's crying of hunger as their daily bread was supposed to come daily but with the lockdown rules, they could not officiate their daily hustles...I heard and saw churches shut down and arrests made for flaunters of orders..... salaries were cut to half and stimulus packages where withheld by selfish government officials...I saw the economy suffer.

I saw churches reach out with parlliatives, I saw government officials do same but to the hands amongst the crowd that fought the hardest and yes with disregard for the social distance rule....

A lot became virtual... and my sanity was preserved by the love and support of family as we were there for each other.. reaching out through calls and texting to those far away.

The news and social media didn't save the day as there were circulations of horrifying details and speculations of the surging and fast spreading covid-19. Fear had a face and it was seen almost in everything.

Despiration and vices took it all to another level as miscriants and criminal minded individuals..took the time to perpetrate evil and social vices...robbing and looting from vulnerable individuals and businesses...and a HOME was almost not the safest place for any one but we had to stay in and do our bit.. maintaining good personal hygiene, adhering to government orders, ensuring to wear facemarsks and staying away from crowded areas...

It was tough, I was almost totally alone..with fear and my hopes.

Prayers were said.. reflections were made...I learned to love and cherish me and my alone time..making the best of it in harnessing my interests, I learned to care.. for me, for humanity and for the Universe.

I also learnt faith, hope, patience and the power of positive affirmations... knowing that, nothing stays the same regardless of how it all started and human carelessness and unkind attitude to the Universe..., that it'll all get better at last.

I cried for the lives lost to the pandemic..my heart to their families., I joyed for everyone at different spheres of life, doing everything in their best capacities to get the the world back to health and wellness again.

I learned to look up in appreciation at the beautiful reflection of sun rays for every new mornings....it is my reminder of hope and new beginnings.

I hope we love and care for each other..
I hope we take care of the Universe.

When we take care for the Universe, it cares for us.
