Short horror stories
In a remote village nestled amidst dense forests, there stood a broken temple with a dark and haunting past. It was said to have been built in the early 1700s, but tragedy struck in 1750 when a meteor shower rained down upon the village, shattering the temple into ruins. From that day forward, a curse seemed to grip the land, and people began to vanish mysteriously.

The disappearances remained a chilling mystery until one day, someone stumbled upon a ghastly sight near the wheat fields. Amongst the golden stalks stood peculiar plants, their leaves glowing with an eerie light. These plants, however, held a macabre secret.

Mr. Kesar and his friends were tourists passing through the village, eager to explore the local sights. They were warned by the villagers to steer clear of the temple ruins, but curiosity got the better of them. While Kesar heeded the warning and wandered through the wheat field, his fiancée, Priya, and her friends ventured into the crumbling temple.

As Kesar roamed amidst the swaying wheat, he noticed something unusual. Glowing plants stood amidst the crop, beckoning him with their otherworldly radiance. Suddenly, the piercing sound of his fiancée's screams shattered the tranquility of the surroundings. Fear coursed through his veins, propelling him towards the source of the commotion.

To his horror, Kesar found himself surrounded by a horde of these glowing plants, their heights uniformly matching except for one. This singular plant was small and bore a bloodstain on its leaf. The soil surrounding it was moist, unlike the dried earth of its counterparts. Overwhelmed by dread, he dug into the ground beneath the small plant, only to discover bones and Priya's torn clothes. Her engagement ring glinted eerily amidst the remains. Before he could comprehend the gruesome reality before him, another scream pierced the air, this time emanating from the depths of the temple. Driven by a mix of desperation and terror, Kesar sprinted towards the temple entrance. What he witnessed there was beyond his darkest nightmares.

His friend, Rajiv, had come into contact with a colossal rock within the temple, emitting the same otherworldly glow as the plants. However, this encounter had brought upon him a horrifying fate. Vines had snaked their way around Rajiv's legs, anchoring him to the ground, while the merciless tendrils siphoned his life force, his blood.

Kesar desperately reached out to help his friend, but it was too late. A sudden blow to the back of his head sent him crashing to the floor. As he regained consciousness, he found himself surrounded by a group of villagers, their faces contorted with malevolence. They spoke of the secrets that the temple held, and how the meteor rock had bestowed both a curse and a boon upon their village.

The village head, wearing a sinister smile, approached Kesar, revealing the dark truth they had concealed. The warning to stay away from the temple had been given for a reason, and his friends' actions had disrupted the fragile balance. They couldn't allow Kesar to leave alive, for he might expose their dark secret to the world.

Begging for mercy, Kesar pleaded with the villagers, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. They callously pushed him into a chamber within the temple, where the meteor rocks still glowed ominously. The door was sealed shut, leaving Kesar alone with the source of the village's curse. What transpired within that chamber remains unknown, shrouded in the mists of time. Ten years have since passed, and the lush green wheat fields continue to sustain the village, providing an abundant food supply without the need for cultivation.

The villagers carry on their lives, haunted by the terrible secret they keep hidden within the temple ruins. The curse and the boon persist, entwined in a macabre dance, feeding the village at the cost of innocent lives. And as the villagers reap the harvest of their dark pact, the memory of Mr. Kesar and his ill-fated friends slowly fades away, lost in the annals of a forgotten horror.
