The unique sacrifice
It is about the month of September in the year 1730. Jodhpur Maharaja Abhaysinghji Maharaj was sitting in the Deewane Khas, consulting his chieftains about the repair of Mehrangarh (the name of the fort of Jodhpur). The repair material had arrived in the fort. Then lime was used instead of cement. Lime of high quality was found in abundance in the area of Borunda in Marwar province. Now fuel was needed to burn the lime. Maharaja Abhaysinghji ordered the chief Minister of State, Girdhardas Bhandari, to arrange for the fuel. On the second day, the Minister of State left with his royal troup for the arrangement of fuel. He found that there was a dense forest of Khejdi trees, 24 kilometers to the east of Jodhpur city.
