Chapter 2- First Kiss
My class was over and it was lunch break. I went to the cafeteria with my new friend, Daniel. I sat beside him in class and we pretty much became pals. He also showed me around the school.
We sat at an open table waiting for our food to be ready. The chef called us for our lunch and Daniel went for them. While he was away, Carson joined me at my table. "Hey, beautiful. What's up?" he asked. My heart started to beat fast. Beautiful? Ahh! "Just waiting on my lunch.", I said calmly. "Mhm", he said. Just then, Daniel came back with our lunch. "Hanna...here's your lunch", he said looking baffled. "Thank you", I said "This is Carson, my friend" "I know", Daniel replied. Well, this was awkward.
"Would you like to come to the football game today beautiful? Hendrick will also be playing", Carson stated. "Wouldn't miss it for the world", I replied to him. Carson then left and Daniel had a confusing look on his face "I thought you guys were just friends". "We are", I said.
Lunch break was over and it was time for Music class. "Good morning class. My name is Miss Glarclay for those who don't know", my teacher said. "I trust that you all know our new student, Hanna. Please be nice to her. Today we will be singing sweet home Alabama. Please get up here one by one and start singing."
A few of my classmates went and now it was my turn. I was so nervous I felt like passing out. I went up and tried to sing but I couldn't. There was a lump in my throat and I wanted to cry. I couldn't take it anymore so I ran out of the class. I knew how to sing so what happened?? I wanted to go home but I didn't have a ride so I went out into the bleachers of the football field only to find Carson out there smoking.
He spotted me and called for me to sit beside him. "What are you doing out here Carson?" "I should be asking you the same question.", he said smiling. "I ran out of class.", I said and a tear fell from my eye. Sh¡t. He put out the cigar and asked me what happens and I told him everything. "I just embarrassed myself on my very first day", I said. He pulled me into a hug "It's gonna be fine. I'm sure you can do it next time, I believe in you." and then he kissed me gently. This was amazing. My first kiss!
