I do.
"Do you?"
His voice startled me.
"Do I, what?" I asked as politely as I could, feeling guilty, realising that I'd been preoccupied the whole evening. Evening of our first date. And it Was a lovely evening, with the gentle autumn breeze and crisp dried leaves in a symphony. I couldn't ask for a more romantic walk than this. But for some reason my heart kept on swaying away with the peachy air trying to find an anchor. And my company was clearly not one.
"Do you believe in Soulmates?" He asked again, his brown eyes, hopeful.
I looked down at my feet, stepping on the leaves. I could hear your voice in my mind, 'Don't you absolutely love the sound of dried leaves beneath your feet!'.
I smiled. "I do."
