furneral of a city: chapter 21
Tom came home later than expected. He was a bit exhausted and his arm also hurt a bit. He was thinking about falling on the sofa and stretching out his legs, but his wife's beautiful face took away the tiredness.
"There you are. I was really getting worried."
She got closer to him. Put her arms around his neck, than riddled her arm plams over his face, while she continued to look at him with such great stream of positive energy that Tom became reaware that there was no better woman in the world than Esther. Her beautiful, dense, shoulder long, dark hair. Her lovely, tender figure, her cute nose. The little eyes that looked at him like two autumne hazelnuts. He could never look enough at her, but even her sweet nose could not overthrow her positivity, energy, zest for life, the uncanny love she bore for every human beeing. Her warmth, her sentimentality. There was nobody who's heart was as big and kind and empathic as hers.
"I was only gone for a few hours, but I missed you so much, shrew. The few hours I haven't seen you have been an infinity. I'd like to sit next to you all day and hold you in my arms and never, never let you go."
"What happened to your arm? You can't go out of the house without hurting yourself. Does it hurt much, my poor?"
"It's not that bad. Will heal soon, my little shrew. The moment I saw you, I almost forgot about it."
"I made Smoked Corned Beef today, with potatoes and some vegetables."
"Thank you, shrew. You're the best cook I know."
"I'm going to ask Cadence if she wants to eat with us and also Amalia."
Tom followed his wife with his eyes. She was his greatest happiness, his absolute joy. Every day he saw her in the morning, it was as if he fell in love with her again and that in their happy 39 years of marriage. She had given him to wonderful children. A son and a daughter, Nico and Esther. They were his purpose, his drive, his strength. His family was all he ever needed and wanted and especially now, when he would become a grandfather for the first time in a few weeks, his joy was as great as never.

Esther came back to him. She was followed by Amalia
"Tom!"
"Is that her sister."
"Yes. That's Amalia."
"Nice to meet you, Amalia. You look just like your sister. If I would not know you would visit us, I would think you are a clone of her."
"Were not even as similar as other twins are, but Iris and I have found some make up tricks to make us look more similar. In the end, it's not that important. It'll be dark when your wife and I will go to down to the sea and hide on the island. It will for sure come to light pretty soon, that I am not Iris, but you will have some extra days."
Cadence also came to them.
" We met when you arrived, Amalia."
"Max knows you're here, Cadence. He doesn't like the idea of the additional scandal, but I was able to convince him. So what's going to happen to night. Sam wanted me to tell it one more time. Cadence you will go to the concert together with me and Esther. Sam and Mathilda will be there and Barry will also be there and Iris will be there. Your gonna get into a fight with Barry after the show. So that whole attention will be on you. During this time Iris and some she will choose will go to the park and wait there. As soon as you guys start fighting, you, my little shrew will row together with Amalia to the island. There will be boats at shore. Kenny gonna take a boat a a bit far away, so that it will not get to suspicious. Don't ask me how Sam arranged the boat situation. He has connections. During this time, Iris will say goodbye to the one, she choose, and will row alone on the other boat. There she will say goodbye to you Amalia and than you will change boats. While Iris will stay with Esther. You will row back. It's all timed so precisely, that Kenny will reach the spot where he will drown you at a time you, Amalia will be in the middle of the way back."
Tom stopped talking. He looked in the pale face of Amalia, Iris twin sister for a really long time. Amalia noticed his deep sadness.
" Tom, I know this isn't easy for all of you. I know you all don't want to do this and you don't want to kill me. I know especially how bad Iris feels about all of this, but I honestly don't mind to do this. I know Kenny will kill me, but if he will not, I will still only have a few days left. It is important for me that everything will finally comes to an end and that my sister, whom I met much too late in my life, finds happiness after being free from her final duty. Esther, Cadence, I'm grateful that you will help Iris to overcome the next time. She's going to need it more than ever before. I don't want to imagine what she's going through."
Tom turned around so that nobody woul notice that he was crying. Cadence sat down on a chair while Estehr pressed Amalia covered in tears very close to herself. She was holding her tigh, but was not saying anything, as words would be inappropriate, but it was obvious that she would rather drown herself, than let this innocent sick person to die, through the hands of a mental ill man. Finally Cadence got up to comfort Esther and calm her down.
"Hey! It's better if you will try to think about something else right now. We can't afford to impose on our emotions. It is important that we remained concentrated and controlled. We can't allow to make any mistakes. But that means we need to try to not panic and over react to much right now."
"Cadence is right and I want to try your Smoked Corned Beef at least once in the last few hours I have left. Cadence said no one prepares it as well as you..."
