Write a short story from your past that involves light or darkness in some way.

She sat at the kitchen table slumped in her chair half listening to the conversation between her mom and sister, the same old hum-drum thing she herd everyday.
They were discussing the bible again, about how to be saved and how many different offences could send you straight to hell.
"I got a book in the mail" she said interrupting the conversation. "It's a book of spells" she said watching as booth heads popped up to stare at her in horror.
"Throw it away" her sister shouted. "burn it" her mom said while shaking her finger in her face, "stuff like that is evil and no good can come from it."
"Oh Mom" it's just a book, what would I have to do to become a witch anyway? "I think it would be cool."
"You have to give something up" her sister chimed in.
"like what?" she said. "I would be willing to give up one of my fingers" she said illustrating the point with a chopping motion.
"No" her mom said as she heaved a sigh! " You have to give up your soul."
"Oh" she said as she got up to leave the table. " Why does everything have to be a doorway to hell."
The conversation rattled on as she stomped out of the kitchen back to her room, she knew that they were talking about her now, she could still here bits and pieces about how they were going to save her soul.
"I really don't think there would be any harm in trying a few things out" she thought. "I'll just wait till there asleep and try a simple spell."
"Just one spell can't hurt."
