Don't Fall Asleep
It happens every night. The dreams get worse and worse; stronger and stronger. Each time the enemy gets a hold of him. He tries to call onto Jesus for help, but can hardly utter His name. Then he wakes up scared for his life. His heart pounding and pulse racing. The nightmares are so real to him. Last night, the enemy was before him again in his dream and had him backed to the wall with nowhere to eacape. He could see the dark figure before him wearing a long, dark cloak. When suddenly, though no one could be seen doing so, he felt hands around his neck choking and elevating him off the ground. Unable to breathe, he tried again to call on the name of Jesus. And again, he could hardly utter His name, the name above all names. Finally, he awoke from this nightmare that felt so real to him, afraid to fall asleep and go through it again. He wondered, could these scary dreams mean something? Is he on his way to hell? Or could God be warning him about something? He couldn't help but, wonder, will the enemy drag him into this dream world next time and take him for all eternity?

Must stay awake, don't fall asleep!
He tells himself...
Must stay awake!
Don't fall asleep!
Must stay awake!
Don't fall asleep!

But the night got the best of him and off he goes into a deep sleep once more. 💤
