Unavoidable Surrender Pt. 3
Rachel found herself in front of her laptop, typing away because the deadline for the project she was working on is tomorrow. She usually wasn't this tardy, but a lot has happened lately and she simply let it collect dust on her desk. No matter, she will kick its proverbial project ass in no time!

As she worked, she couldn't help but smile, thinking about how far she'd come in such a short time. How grateful she is for getting an opportunity to work here. Being an editor is by no means a walk in the park sometimes, but she loves it and wouldn't trade it for any other profession. For her, this was a dream come true. She had a great career, wonderful family and friends who supported her along the way, there is nothing more she could ask for. Well, there is but...there's no time for that right now! 'Focus 'Chel, you don't have time to dwell on anything that isn't your job, save it for later!', Rachel thought as she furiously typed on her laptop. She's been cooped up in her office for hours now, she's hungry, tired and didn't have her second cup of coffee yet, which wasn't a great combination if you asked her.

'Okaay, it's almost done so I guess a short break is in order. It's about time anyway, my stomach is practically begging for those delicious chicken sandwiches and coffee...mmm, and those blueberry muffins! I can just taste-', suddenly a knock interrupted Rachel's little blueberry fantasy.

-"Come in.", Rachel said as she sat up in her chair. She wished she could see through doors, because there he stood, in all of his 6 foot tall, dark haired and grey-eyed glory, the bane of her existance, Sasha. What could he possibly want now, she wondered.

-"Hey, I was beginning to worry if you'll ever emerge from your office, you know to do basic human stuff like eat or at least take a walk. So being as amazing and thoughtful as I am, despite what you may think, I decided to bring you lunch! And look, I even brought your favorite! Also, I brought my company along, you should feel honored.", Sasha said giving Rachel a small grin that did...things to her heart. Which she totally ignored. She's just tired.

-"Oh, um, thanks I guess. You didn't have to though. You can put everything on the desk here. And no matter what I said, you would still find a way to persuade me to let you eat your lunch here, right?"

-"You know me so well, 'Chel. As well as I know you and your love of chicken sandwich and blueberry muffins.", Sasha laughed lightly as he sat across from Rachel. He looked her over, noticing how exhausted she looked, her hair all over the place. 'Adorable', he thought fondly as he started eating.

-"Hm, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you've been spying on me.", Rachel said with a teasing smile on her face.

-"Of course I have, ever since you started working here I've made it my mission to find out everything there is about you. There's no reason for me to deny it when it's true. Now please eat, your food is getting cold. But do continue staring at me all you want, I don't mind.", Sasha winked at Rachel, who now had a light blush on her face.

-"I-I wasn't s-staring at you! Why would I do that? There's nothing interesting to stare at anyway."

-"Are you sure about that? Or are you trying to make an excuse for being caught? I told you I don't mind it. In fact, I encourage it. It's a win-win situation for both of us since I get to admire you as well. It's such a shame we don't share an office, that way we could see each other more often.", Sasha said with a smirk as he watched Rachel's infamous (to him at least) temper rise at his words.

-"Well I guess I did something good in my life in order to NOT be punished by sharing any kind of space with you! I think I'd go crazy pretty fast if I had to put up with your 'fantastic' personality 5 times a week! The agony...", Rachel shivered. Okay, so she's being overly dramatic, it wouldn't actually be that bad sharing an office with him, but still! Her pride won't let her admit otherwise.

-"And now you're just exaggerating, as usual", Sasha said rolling his eyes, before continuing "but to each their own I guess. Besides eating lunch with you, there is another reason I came here."

-"And that is?", Rachel asked.

-"I want you to go on a date with me."
