Let's Talk!
We need to Talk! Now, I think it is great that you care for the environment, that you are taking measures to be more eco-friendly and sustainable whether be simple lifestyle choices such as becoming a vegan or vegetarian or riding the bus or train instead of driving a car, all these are great and I applaud you for it;however, we need to talk about this new trend called "vintage" and that wearing "vintage" clothing is now considered cool, which by the way wearing vintage always be cool! This "wearing vintage" trend that has skyrocketed within the last 5 to 10 years is getting so wide spread that "vintage"is now the new "luxury brand" and that is a problem! You see for decades people of lower class, the working class have depended on these "vintage" second hands clothing that they find thriftstores because they couldn't afford newest fast fashion that just came off the run-way or the current seasons' line. No, to the working class, lower class we can't afford to spread 1000s of dollars or even hundreds of 1000s for jacket or pair shoes, now we had to go to the thriftstore and buy whatever we could find and hope it fits, and if it did then hope it works or doesn't have any holes in it. That is what we working class people have had to do for decades! But then, somebody, somewhere start the train wagon of all of sudden it is cool which means everybody wants so prices go up! Basic economic, now that 5 dollar items is now worth 50 dollars great if you are trying make money and get a new hustle it is another thing when you can't afford it! That what happened, to many of favorite brands like Levi's and Doc Martin's once a upon a time they were made for the working class! Now of course they had to be good quality they were made for the mills and when your working the mills, you need good quality. Then the psychedelic 60s happen and everything changed. Rockers, Greasers, and Teenage Rebels got ahold of them and made them "cool" or trending by today's standards and like with all basic economic when there is few of something but many want it, the price goes up and up ever since. The 70s is what really cemented Doc Martin's into iconic status and "pop" culture completely forgetting that it was made for those with foot problems. Now, sometimes you can find great deals Docs and Levi's but your competing with 8 billion people and sometimes it is a rush against the clock and it could be months before another great deal comes around and that sucks especially when you are fix income, like myself. Trends are always changing along with the times, a few years ago everyone wanted cast iron, now everyone wants clothes, and who knows maybe someday people will want heavy oak furniture that takes the strength of 10 men to move( Oh Please God No, those thing are extremely heavy)! I don't...
