Alien
#WritcoStoryPrompt25

I stared at the letters tattooed into my right forearm. I had no memory how I had got it or why I was in a hospital gown or why I was floating at the edge of a muddy, river bank. I had absolutely no memory of who I was..

I tried to push myself up, but my body felt weightless. Looking down, I saw that my feet were not touching the ground. I was floating a few inches above the muddy bank, my hospital gown flapping around me in the cool breeze.

Panic set in as I realized that something was seriously wrong. I had no idea how I was floating or why I couldn't remember anything. My mind raced, trying to piece together any scraps of information that might give me a clue.

Suddenly, a bright light appeared in the sky above me, growing larger by the second. I shielded my eyes and squinted as the light descended, revealing a sleek, metallic spacecraft.

As the craft landed on the bank, a group of humanoid figures emerged. They wore dark uniforms and carried strange weapons that hummed with energy. Without a word, they surrounded me and lifted me off the ground with their technology, strapping me into a harness that held me in place.

One of the aliens approached me, scanning my forehead with a small device. "Subject 24601," he said in a monotone voice. "Memory wipe complete. Beginning reprogramming sequence."

Panic turned to terror as I realized that I was not a human at all, but some kind of experiment, a lab creation with no true identity. My memory had been wiped, and now these aliens were going to reprogram me to serve their own purposes.

As the aliens activated the reprogramming sequence, I struggled against my restraints, but it was no use. I was at their mercy, a mere tool to be used and discarded.

As the world faded to black, the only thing I could remember was the tattoo on my arm, a faint reminder of a life that was no longer mine.
