MY NEW JOB UPDATE (L.R.)
The picture I used is one I just now took. I am sitting in the grass of the high school next to my house. This is 2.5 year old dog Champ. I rescued him from being abandoned in a lot in my Grandma's neighborhood. I love him so very much! :) :)
First of all, let me apologize for being a week late with this. I am very sorry.
So, as my friends on Writco know and maybe some others on here too, I started my first job one week ago from tomorrow (for me). I am going to a charter school for my high school years, and so I had to get my uniform. We went to the school uniform place one week ago from yesterday, and got a good chunk of what I will need for school. They have only been opened for 3 weeks now in this location, which is the only store location opened in the big area I live in.
We were the last people in the store when they closed, and when we were checking out, the employees were asking us if we knew anybody that wanted a job, considering they only had a manager, a full time worker, a summer only worker, and a 1-2 days a week kind of worker. They hire at 16, which worked out very well for me, because I have been looking for a job ever since I got back from visiting my Grandma, Great Grandma, and Uncle in another city. So I said I was interested, and just like that, my first day was two days later!
I was extremely nervous with butterflies in my stomach the whole way to work, and I stuttered in front of a customer that was asking me a question, and I had only been there for maybe half an hour. I felt so embarrassed and I just wanted to shrink after the customer spoke to me rudely. I felt really bad that I couldn't help her, but then a nicer lady who was being checked out by the only other worker in there (We had just opened the store), said I was doing a fine job. That made me feel better.
My days after that were SO MUCH BETTER! I love my job and I get 50% off of anything and everything I buy, which works out wonderfully since that's where I get my school uniform.
I only have four other coworkers and my manager. I am working full time until school starts on August 18th, and then my boss is letting me work only on Saturdays. Which if you didn't know, you can't do in almost any other job.
I am really enjoying my job and have been complemented by one specific coworker of mine, and said that I am such a big help and very good at my job. Especially yesterday, because our boss and her daughter were out of town visiting family, and the new girl, and the other girl that only works 1 or 2 days a week, and then the boyfriend of my boss, and then I was there too. And Saturdays are quite busy in the mornings for us. So it was a bit crazy yesterday morning, because the two girls hadn't showed up yet.
Since I work full time, I make quite a bit, which I am very very happy about. But along with the money, I am always very tired after work. It's weird, because when I stay late everyday, about 2.5 hours after we close, I am never really that tired but when I get of off work, the tired wave hits me. Harder on some days than others though.
And when I am not working at my job, I am doing stuff at home, so my free time is very limited since I started my job a week ago. And it's pretty funny because I feel like I've been working a lot longer than just a week.
They pay for my lunch pretty much everyday, so there was only one day this past week that I was glad I brought my sandwich, lol! I also get paid on my lunch break, so that's really nice!

Our work hours are down below:
Sunday: closed
Monday to Thursday: 11am-6pm
Friday: closed
Saturday: 10am-4pm
My work hours are down below:
Sunday: off day
Monday to Thursday: 10:30am-8:30pm
Friday: off day
Saturday: 9:30am-6:30pm

For the part where I wrote the hours I actually work, that is usually what it is, but I can come however early I want and I can leave almost however late I want, lol!
And since this weekend is tax freebweekend, we will be pretty busy, and this is the only Friday we're open during the year, and Friday's hours will be the same as Saturday's hours. So I will be working Monday to Saturday without a day off in there, so I hope I get good sleep this week. :) :) :)
And incase anyone was wondering, 40 hours a week is full time, well I worked 45 hours this past week, so I got paid overtime, and overtime is 1.5 times your regular hourly pay.
I miss you all so so so very much and just keep tagging me in things, because I do check Writco almost everyday after work. I hope everyone is doing well and happy! Happy Friendship Day to my writco family! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
