Earlene’s Happiness
On a rainy morning Earlene was sad she was at home by herself nobody was there with her then her daughter and granddaughter came over to her house they knocked on her door she opened her door and it was her daughter Ophelia and her granddaughter Lacie. I am happy to see you please come in said Earlene we are happy to see you too replied Ophelia that rainy morning they both came in Earlene’s house they sat down then Earlene’s face went back sad again what’s wrong grandmother? Lacie ask I am sad that I never get to see you as much as I wanted to, you never come by my house, you never spent much time with me, you never went to church with me, and it hurts me so much because you are my granddaughter I love you so much and all I wanted was for me and you to spend time together we can have our own girls thing replied Earlene. Aww momma you know how happy that made me feel you know what I am going to leave you both here and let y’all have y’all time oh Lacie I will be back to pick you up tomorrow morning afternoon after church darling make sure you be ready oh and please be respectful to your grandmother said Ophelia yes ma,am I will replied Lacie. That rainy day Earlene cooked supper for her and her granddaughter Lacie they were having Turkey kneck and cornpone it was Lacie’s favorite meal. After they ate later on tonight Earlene had a party for her and Lacie Earlene invited a few of her elderly friends over they all met her granddaughter Lacie and they loved her Lacie was being very respectful towards her elders. Charmaine and her husband Richard really loved Lacie when they needed something Lacie was there to help them, Georgia was in her wheelchair she was rolling to the table and accidentally dropped her cake on the floor Lacie picked it up and threw the cake in the trash and made Georgia a new cake that made Georgia happy. Thank you Lacie you are very respectful said Georgia you are welcome replied Lacie. That night Lacie and the elders was playing bingo Lacie had to call the numbers out and her grandmother Earlene was there helping her. Now Lacie you got to speak loud so the elders can hear you said Earlene and Lacie did after playing bingo everybody went home. Alright girl I better help you get ready for bed we got church in the morning said Earlene yes ma,am replied Lacie. In the morning Earlene and Lacie went to church they praised GOD and they prayed when Sunday service was over the pastor came over to meet Lacie and Earlene friends came over as well they wanted to know Lacie and Lacie was very respectful everybody was hoping that Lacie would come back again with her grandmother. After church Ophelia came to pick up her daughter well honey did you love spending time with your grandmother? Ophelia ask yes mom my grandmother is like my best friend replied Lacie and that day they went back home.
