"Hello, Father."
Ashfur sat in front of the man that had tortured him for most of his childhood, the reason that the dreams are as bad as they are. "Hello, Father." He said, voice cold. "Not gonna greet your own father warmly?" He asked. Ashfur slammed his hands on the table. "Why would I? You didn't give a danm about us when we were growing up." He snarled. Derek chuckled softly. "Feisty. Huh. Get that from me." He said. Ashfur could feel Keiran's hand on the doorknob, ready to open it and defend his mate, but he didn't need to do that now, not yet. Silver eyes glinted back at the Alpha male, causing Keiran to relax. "I am nothing like you." Ashfur snarled. Derek scoffed. "That so called mate of yours ready to protect you? Had to get another man huh? You really are weaker than I thought." He asked. Ashfur snarled again, his wolf scratching at the edge and ready to take over, he had to reel him in before he wolfed-out. "He's a better mate than any other girl could be and we love each other." He said. Derek rolled his eyes glancing at the scars on his wrists. "See you still have your nightmares then." He said. Ashfur glared at him. "You're the cause of them grow up and take some responsibility for abusing me." He snapped. "I didn't make your stupid decisions for you." Derek said. "You knew what was going to happen as soon as the dreams kicked in, I harmed myself for twenty years to try to kill myself to get rid of that side of you. It disgusts me that I'm related to you but I swear to you that my son will not live the same fears that I had to growing up, he will not know of you, your dead as far as he or I am concerned. It's better off that way." Ashfur spat. "Ouch. You'd really diss your own father like that?" Derek asked. Hawkeye went in between Ashfur's legs growling at Derek. "It's okay Hawk." Ashfur said softly, trying to calm the beautiful Border Collie. Derek glared at the ring on his son's finger. "He asked your hand in marriage?" He asked. Ashfur shifted his weight nervously. If you want him gone say the word, I'll gladly take care of him for you. Hollyleaf whispered. Ashfur shook his head. "It's fine. I'm glad your protecting me though." Ashfur said. Hollyleaf nodded. "Yes, he did we've been engaged for three years now and Sunday we're getting married." He said. Derek scoffed glaring at the beautiful rose gold necklace Keiran got him for his birthday that said his name on it, a simple reminder of the love of his life. "He has poor taste in jewelry." Derek growled. Ashfur glared at his father, his wolf coming out now. "Maybe you should be happy for me instead of criticizing every little thing I do. Weither you like it or not he is my fiancé and will be my husband soon and he makes me happy, happier than I've ever been with Scourge or Squirrelflight." Ashfur spat. "Watch your tone boy." Derek warned. Ashfur scoffed. "I'm not that defenseless fourteen year old that you used to prey on every night. I've learned to fight back and get away. I've learned that my Alpha will protect me and take a bullet for me to save me." Ashfur said. Keiran stepped behind his Omega, as if proving Ashfur's point. "You shouldn't have my son's name around your neck like he's property." Derek growled. Keiran rolled his eyes, running his hand along the Prince necklace. "It's not his name first of all, they didn't have it apparently it's too rare of a name, it's his nickname and second of all he's far from property he's a human being with feelings something you don't understand or have." Keiran snapped. Ashfur glared at his father. "Where is she?" He asked. Derek tilted his head. "Where's...
