THE TURKEY DRAMA
there once lived a man, generous and kind. he loved his wife and children deeply and he was admired by everyone in his neighbourhood. He was a strong willed person who earned his bread by no vile means but absolute honesty and hardwork.
He had however only one weakness- FOOD. He loved food more than anything else in this world. But mind you, he was not a glutton. No. He knows how much to eat and he eats the food he buys himself. But his passion for food wasn't what we term as "normal" either.
Mr Pablo aged 48 when an incident took place which would substantiate the point that I'm trying to make.
It was the mid of july and the sun was high. Mr Pablo took out his hunting rifle and informed his wife that he would be gone for the first half of the day. his wife packed up a little picnic basket for him and off he went on his trip. For all those of you who do not know, it was a yearly ritual for Mr Pablo to dedicate one fine day to hunting. He always went alone because he enjoyed his company; and also so that he didn't have to share his game. Like I said, he didn't like to compromise in matters where food was involved.
in the outskirts of the humble town in which Mr Pablo resided, there was a wide forest which was a home to many birds and animals.
Mr Pablo had the finest time in the forest and the fact that he managed to catch a big healthy Turkey by the end of the day was like a cherry on top.
He reached home contended and upon seeing his wife and children, he said they were going to celebrate his victory. His wife took the turkey and began preparing dinner while Mr Pablo went to have a bath. He was only two steps away from the bathroom when he received a phone call from his workplace requesting his urgent presence to resolve some issues. He hesitated but knew that the matter must be attended immediately. He assured his wife that he would return as soon as the work was done and warned them not to start eating without him. So off he went again, hoping to return soon to devour his prize.
He worked as fast as possible but his mind kept craving the taste of the turkey. he sang as he work and his song went like "Turkey-here-I-come,
I'll-devour-you-with-some-rum"
It was one of those days when hid yearning for food was most evident. He finished his work and began his journey back towards home, towards his treat.
He reached home and called out his wife ," My darling, lay out our finest dinner plated for we are about to begin our feast". His wife appeared, with a face as red as the wattle of a turkey. Upon asking the cause of her worry, his wife fell on her knees and started crying. She confessed that greed conquered her. The meat was irrestible and she and the children devoured it all. It was in her defense an exceptionally good game.
Now comes the interesting part. Remember how I told that Mr Pablo's passion for food was in no way normal or healthy? His family's betrayel hit Mr Pablo hard and he roared in anger.
Mr Pablo moved out of his home the very next morning and his wife and kids never heard from him again.
