Somebody’s loss is, Somebody’s gain..
I often used to hear that somebody’s loss is somebody’s gain. I didn’t give any emphasis to this saying, until on one fine day I just pondered over the statement again and again.
What kind of gain or loss are we talking about. Is it just the loss or gain in monetary value or may be in a game of sports, spiritual enlightenment, mental agony or pain due to something which happened and could not be controlled.
See, we as humans have evolved with time and as we see today there have been lots of changes in our thinking and behavioural pattern. However, it is also seen that as different countries have progressed significantly towards development of infrastructure, the lifestyle, nature of jobs, occupation have also steadily changed. No doubt, science and technology adding to the fuel for faster development and progress.
Now looking back at the nature of people, we can see how selfish we have become for petty things and have become so self centered. People seem to have forgotten their culture and the values they derived from their earlier times and feel that they are the elite lot. A developing country like India tried to imitate the lifestyle of western countries, on the other hand the western countries realised the cultural values of a country like India. At one point it was clearly seen how we were getting spoiled by blindly following them, on the other hand how they understand our culture and values and followed us to get benefitted. At our end depletion was happening and at their end enrichment was happening.
It’s not about the type of countries I want to talk about, but if you look at a nutshell it is a vicious cycle each nation had to go through at some point of time and we can see somebody’s loss is somebody’s gain. This is how we are and how the world is.
