Heaven Away From Hell
Into the pit I fell
Like coin to the mouth of an open well.
Bottom I cannot see
Hanging, gazing down the chasm's cavity.
The weathered face of the monolith saving me,or only delaying my inevitable mortality?
The jagged crust of blistering rock
Biting my peeling flesh with no remorse.
Thy burns going beyond third degree
My flesh akin to ash, mimicking brimstones course.
All round the symphony of demented, deranged and damned screams
Such a frequency has caused my ears to bleed.
Arms heavy as lead , supporting my body
This corpse from being swallowed to the very depths.
The Abyss Has been calling me
long since I learned how to breathe.
The sulfur suffocating ,fresh air seeming
to be a distant memory.
Sulfur mixing with fried hair and broiled flesh , possibly a delicacy to the Beasts circling me.
My appetite went absent upon the start of this malady.
The Vultures screech with hunger, growing impatient with my will to live.
I'm not sure if human dialect has a name for such a grotesque scavenger of the rift.
They have wings and live to feast,no feathers,no beaks
Talons the size of horns adorn their feet
Tail tipped with the stinger of a bee slicing through the wind as a scythe through wheat.
Then there's the teeth, more than a shark ,3 mouths per beast equipped to rip you apart.
Worst of all they evolved without sight, not a single eye in the flesh mask built into it's hide.
Without the enhanced smell,my sizzling skin would have rang the dinner bell.
I gaze down deep into the eye of the Abyss, pondering my wavering thoughts as they fade into mist.
I've never feared death as I've died before, but I'll be damned if I go out with a whimper,The heart of a Lion Roars.
Phoenix comes from the fire , the closer you are to death the stronger your desire .
Anger's only use is to fuel the fire, emotional gas feeding the flames to grow hotter and higher.
Death is not the end,I've went before and I will again.
They wrote the prologue but I will write how my story ends.
I let go.
Down I go.
Staring the Beasts in the featureless face as I plummet below.
Smiling with the peace knowing even in defeat there's victory.
The light glimmering like a distant flame.
I close my eyes and await fate.
I'll never know if there was a bottom to the pit,for my expedition was interrupted by a spirit
Black as far as the eye could see,yet I knew they wouldn't drop me.
I knew not and knew them well.
The familiarity thick as the sulfur I smell.
From The darkness came light, the jaws of the Abyss open wide.
That's when I saw who had caught me.
I stare in disbelief at an agent of mercy.
Horns on her head, hair painted blood, emerald eyes that could tell no lies, inside her soul I could see an Angel in a Demon's body.
Never had a felt such Peace,in a thousand lives I'd die every time to feel such relief.
Fate is an oddity,wonderfully strange.
My fall of faith led to me being saved.
Into the pit I fell
Down to where she dwelled
Falling under her spell
I found Heaven on the way to Hell.
