The old woman was near death. I could hear her try to draw in painful gasps of breath. I felt helpless as a doctor in this remote part of the world. Was there nothing I could do?
This lady was my mother I yell to the crowd of villagers as I find my mother on the sandy ground. I only stepped away for a minute and I come back to this... 🤔 ❓ What just happened? I didn't know I could feel this sadness for her. I stand confused for a moment then I run to her and land on my knees beside her on the ground!
The very lady that gave me birth loved me unconditionally, and ultimately planned my very demise, came here on her holy missionary mission. I asked her not to come here but she just had to. So since I felt morally dragged along I tried to make the best of it by shopping. My friends back in my country will be so amazed.. I am quite a finder.
Now we are in a remote area, where no one around us speaks our language just our money. I have never been around so many people that look like me but can't communicate, oh I hate it. Let me try her phone, just then I see hers is dead. Great, I look at her lay in agony almost out if it. The stares are so embarrassing, so I dare not yell for help.
Ugggrrhh I growl under the deepest part of my throat, no signal. Dammit ! Now I cannot translate anything because I don't have a signal! I am always chasing after her... Okay Alicia get it together!
Lord please help us I say quietly as I look at the agony her body and carried to her groans and pain her eyes.. I need to comfort her. 🙏 🤲
I'm here mom, I whisper like I always am,ok I'm going to save the day I chant, she tries to smile. I grab her hand..
Suddenly in the crowd I hear a man's voice drawing nearer through the crowd around us rushing closer from the far back of the crowd in front of me .. He has an accent but speaks English. He Pushes his way gently to the front and says I'm a doctor I can help. He comes over and asks takes lead. I look at him, speechless.
He starts ordering natives to collect supplies to help like herbs and spices. I know cause I asked what he was saying. Everyone just moved. He told me I have been in America, but this is my home. I do alot of business there for my country.
Collectively listening, he sounds like a dignitary or at least educated and civil. Let me stop judging he is helping me. I nodded to his request to assist with my mother with 😢 tears flowing down my face.
