STRANGER IN COMMUNITY
Most communities exist because we brought them into being. Some years and decades ago, they were regarded as settlements, villages, rural areas and the many descriptions you can think of. Even today new communities erupt on daily bases. Whereas sometime ago, the root cause to creating a community was to search for more subsistence and perhaps crate more space for a family, today we look for and create communities because we need to.

This is probably due to the over increasing population of the globe and also land use land cover change is greatly changing the globe at a faster pace. Communities we used to refer to as villages are now considered as towns and cities. The same goes for cities that have become cosmopolitan by virtue of their integration and diversity. The population of towns and villages used to be very small but today we consider them as overly populated.

We move from one location to the other without fear and hindrance. When it used to be all vegetation, now it's all infrastructure, roads, gardens, lawns and flowers. So who is the stranger in town now? We are more likely to consider the immediate person we come into contact with on the road as a friend than an enemy to the community. Depending on the activities taking place, we might report to the police or perhaps give a helping hand.

The environment at the moment makes us create more room for friendship that enmity. Those inclined to cause harm to the community or neighbourhood are easily identified because the equipment to do so are easily accessible. With a little mobile phone, one could roam the streets of another without difficulty. The community is therefore more friendly because we have designed it as such. Instead of walls all over, we prefer flowers and lawns, perhaps this could put the fight against climate change in a better perspective.
