Life Lesson #1
It reached out and locked me in it's grasp. Horror shook through my body as I felt myself get tugged under the waves. I screamed. I kicked. I prayed.
No one came to my rescue. And my fighting was never enough.
The pull of the past is stronger than you'd think, and the waves of pain drown and choke you like no other.
You want to believe that you're strong, but every battle you haven't won makes you believe otherwise.
But the most important thing to remeber, is that the battle doesn't count. Because the war isn't over. It never will be, not until you say it is. Not until you give up and let the memories and pain drown and chain you to the bottom of the ocean.
Until then, the war isn't over.
And that pain is on your turf.
Those memories have walked into your world.
Maybe they win a battle or two, and you're left in a puddle of blood and tears. But they won't win the war. Because you only have so many memories. and you can only feel so much pain.
Don't forget that.
