Second Luck (short story)
Once, there lived a woman named Nera, who came from a beautiful and arrogant family. While everyone spoke of her elegance and beauty, Nera felt an emptiness in her heart. One day, she encountered a young man named Arthur, who worked at the town’s flower shop. Arthur's eyes reflected the dreams within him, but unfortunately, his family was facing financial difficulties. Nera fell in love with him at first sight.
As time went by, Nera had her aides follow Arthur to observe his life. Watching him alone during his tough times and witnessing his struggles deeply affected Nera. Her heart grew fonder as she witnessed Arthur's fight for survival.
One day, she gathered her courage and decided to confront Arthur face to face. They met under a tree by the lake. Their eyes sparkled just like the first time they met. Nera expressed her feelings openly. “If you marry me, I will help you and your family with your financial troubles,” she said. Arthur was taken aback by this proposal. Although it was beautiful to marry a woman from a proud family, it wounded his pride.
“There’s so much I can do for you,” Nera continued. “I would give up everything I have in my life, but I want to build a future with you.” Even though Arthur did not want to, his family insisted that this was an opportunity for him. Soon, they married, and they had a daughter whom they named "Happy " Arthur loved his daughter dearly, but Nera, being a proud woman who wanted to focus on herself, paid little attention to the children. Shortly after, their second child was born, and they named her "Happier ". Arthur...
