*COMMUNIQUE*

The Labour Party Patriotic Movement Congress (LPPMC) held an interactive meeting in Abuja on 25th Jan, 2024, with critical stakeholders representing 28 States in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory. The meeting focused on crucial discussions aimed at safeguarding the future of the party and fostering peace and progress.

After extensive deliberations, the following resolutions were reached:

*1. Immediate Truce and Formation of an Interim National Caretaker Committee:*

a - The party and stakeholders must be committed to uniting and establishing an immediate truce between the warring National Working Committee (NWC) leaderships.

b - An Interim National Caretaker Committee must be constituted to conduct the Gubernatorial primaries in Edo and Ondo States, review the party constitution, and organize a convention within 3 months. The convention will, in turn, conduct States' Congresses, local government congresses, and ward congresses to strengthen the party's foundation.

*2. Reconciliation and Loyalty:*

a - The "Obi-dient" family should be pacified through a nationwide thank-you tour and relevant reparations.

b - Elected members and officers of the party are urged to prioritize loyalty to the party and avoid defections and frustration. Party leadership at all levels must lead by example and uphold the party's ideals and ideologies, embracing inclusivity in their leadership.

*3. Independence and Fairness:*

a - The group affirms the party's ability to stand independently without the need for a merger and emphasizes the importance of harnessing its various fronts.

a - The opposition to the Edo and Ondo States' Gubernatorial Form fees and the demand for a reasonable reduction to promote equality and fairness.

*4. Inclusivity and Electoral Processes:*

a - Liberal party registers should be made available across the wards to prevent impositions and favoritism.

b - Continuous training and orientation of party Excos at all levels on the party's ethos for optimal functionality.

c - Adherence to electoral acts and guidelines in all party processes and elections.

*5. Transition and Renewal:*

a - The gathering opposes the idea of the current Excos of the party holding onto their expired positions.

The Labour Party Patriotic Movement Congress (LPPMC) is committed to seeing the implemention of these resolutions for the advancement and unity of the party.
