The Wolf (Chapter 1)
Sirena woke up with a start in a cold sweat. Her dream came back to her; She had been running in front of her pack mates, with the breeze in her fur, winding between trees and brushes. She had been running for such a long time, but she had not felt the need to stop. When she finally came to the present, she realized she wasn't in her bed. "Now where did I end up this time?" She thought to herself. Sometimes these dreams were so real that she woke up in a entirely different spot. She refused to call it sleepwalking. She stood up on her legs and gazed around her. She was in the kitchen? Her stomach rumbled. "Well, at least I didn't come here for nothing." She told herself. She checked the time. It was about to be 6 in the morning. Right on time for her morning patrol. Her mother came into the kitchen humming. She sniffed and looked at Sirena with a stern gaze. "Why are you here already? You aren't even dressed." Her mother shook her head at the sight of her daughters clothes. "No daughter of the alpha's should walk around like that." Sirena looked down at her sports bra and baggy sweatpants. She rolled her eyes knowing that before her mother had married her father and became the packs alpha, she had done the exact thing. She walked upstairs back to her room and grabbed whatever she could find. Turns out, it was just what she needed for her patrol. She slipped into her bathroom. Her sea blue eyes that she inherited from her mother, looked at her from the mirror. She proceeded to wash her face and brush her teeth. She put a tank top and her favorite workout shorts on. After all was done, she combed out her coal black hair and admired the blue highlights that were growing. Every wolf had their own color highlight that was believed to represent their spirit wolf. In their human and wolf forms, the color appeared in the hair or eyes. For an alpha, it was different. In human form you had the color in both eyes and hair. In wolf form you had the color on your chest, eyes, and tail but nobody knew why. After she was finished getting ready, she walked downstairs and saw her father already seated at the table while her mother served breakfast. "Morning dad," she said, as she sat down at the table. She watched as he scarfed down the bacon and toast. "Morning sweetheart. How was your sleep?" She took a piece of toast off his plate and nibbled at the crust. "It was ok. Nothing special." He swallowed and washed his food down with orange juice. His silver eyes then looked at her. The one thing about her father was his eyes. Even being an alpha, his eyes always were a soft silver, only once had she ever seen them turn into a silver steel and she was glad it wasn't aimed at her. "Has Sebastian and Nora arrived to patr-" His words were cut off as she heard the door open and voices coming toward the kitchen. She smiled at her father "Actually yes they have arrived" she said answering his question. She went into the living room and leaned against one of the leather couches. Her two pack mates walked in laughing. "Did you see the look on Jason's face when he turned around?" Sirena glanced up to see Nora try and stifle a giggle. The blonde looked at her. Sirena shook her head. Even patrol could never get this girl to wear anything that didn't try to show off her curves. "Hey Sirena, you ready to go?" She flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder and left the two white highlights in front of her face. "Yeah. Just waiting for you two slow rabbits." She chuckled slightly. "We are not rabbits we are hares," said Sebastian. She rolled her eyes at the green-eyed male who could never tell when a joke only had one part to it. She ignored his comment them called out, "Mom. Dad. I'm on my way out. Be back in a couple hours." She walked out of the house, with Nora and Sebastian trailing close behind.
