Mystery at Willow Creek
#WritcoStoryPrompt1
The parcel that had arrived today, contained an old key and a list of instructions to use it. "What do I do with this?" I reasoned. I tried searching my mind for a clue, but I came up short. "Heck" I groaned, pushing my fingers through my hair. I did that whenever I was frustrated and at this point, I'm just beyond frustrated. Looking around, I noticed I was alone. My roomates, Courtney and Brooke had travelled home to meet their families. Elsa Gringory, my best friend, had been kidnapped. She had been a journalist and was working on a tough case the last time we got together. I could tell this particular case was serious because each time we were together, it was all she spoke about. She was passionate about her job and her passion was contagious.

I miss Elsa. I wish she were here. We always did brainstorm together, piecing puzzles and coming up with possible solutions. "If only you were here", I murmured. Just then, it was like a bulb had been lit. Fragments of the discussion we had before She was kidnapped flooded my mind, making me wide-eyed and leaving me gasping for breathe.

This must be the key to the secret of the mysteries of the dark lords. These are a sect that has been terrorizing willow creek for years. Elsa had been close to getting answers before she mysteriously disappeared. It Was like she had anticipated this. Immediately, I picked up the paper containing the list of instructions and found out it was in Elsa's writing.

Then this must definitely be the key to solving years of mysteries. "What will I find out?" I wondered.
