Chapter 2: ♥️♥️

Aria stood there, frozen in fear, watching her mother shifting into her her werewolf form to protect herself.

Aria: Oh no! this is a huge misunderstanding. Mom would never survive an attack from Akash. Akash Nooooo!

Akash halted and slowed as he realized that he was about to attack her mom. Within seconds, they both shifted back to their human form.

Cherise: What the hell is going on? What are you two doing out here?

Aria: The Moon Goddess led us to one another last night before the party broke up!

Charise: Akash Is your mate?

Akash: Yes, I am!

Her mom looked shocked, but the a smile played at her mouth.

Cherise: My daughter is Crecent Creek's Lunar? Why didn't you tell me last night?

Aria: I'm just as surpyas you are, I've been trying to process it all!

Her mom embraced her.

Cherise: Congratulations! I didn't see this coming!

Akash: I don't think any of us did?

Aria: We're both shocked but working it out!

Cherise: Did you mark my baby girl? Is that why you're out here?

Aria; Ugh Mom!

She flushed with embarrassment because marking is a deeply personal moment between mates.

Cherise: I'm sorry. It's non of my business. I'm still unhappy I woke up to find you missing, Aria. Lunar or not, I don't like knowing you snuck off!

Aria: It's not like I was alone out here all night!

Cherise: I can't believe you stayed here all night!

Aria: We talked for a long while and fell asleep!

Cherise: You could have been attacked. How irresponsible of you both!

Akash: Is that how you speak to your Alpha?

Her mom backed down.

Akash: You almost got yourslef killed, Cherise. I was half asleep when you came out screaming and running towards us!

Cherise: I'm sorry for my outburst, Akash!

Akash: I'm sorry I kept your daughter out!

Cherise: You should get ready for work, Aria. The cafe' isn't going to run itself!

Aria walked off letting Akash deal with her angry mother.

Aria and her mom owns the town's best coffee shop, (Nee Moon's Cafe'), Which she manages alongside her. It's always busy with regulars early in the morning, and she was lucky that she made it there just in time for opening.

Aria: Are you still angry at me?

Cherise: I'm upset that you snuck out, and I woke up fearing that my daughter was taken and murdered!

Aria: I'm sorry mo, I couldn't sleep, and Akash arrived out of nowhere to talk!

Cherise: It's good to know you and your mate are getting along!

Her mom gave her a knowing smile.

Aria: I wasn't expecting to find my mate do soon!

Cherise: You realized you're Crecent Creek's new Lunar. That's a big big deal, baby girl. This is going to call for another celebration!

Aria. I don't think so, not with all these murders happening. We must be cautious!

Cherise: Mabey you're right. I can't imagine what poor Brisket's parents are going through!

The door rang, pulling her out of the sadness threatening to consume her. She wiped away a stray tear and realized Lennix was here for his cup of coffee.

Cherise: Good morning Lennix?

Aria: Hey, Lennix how are you?

Lennix: Good morning ladies. Aria can I speak to you real quick?

Cherise: Ho ahead. I've got the counter!

Aria: What's up?

Lennix: I wanted to check and see how you are after last night!

Aria. Well I'm upset about Brisket's death!

Lennix: And what about Akash?

Aria: Oh Akash and I are working things out. It'll take some getting used to!

Lennix: You should have been mine!

Aria. Shh Lennix! Quiet down!

Lennix: Why should I? I have wanted you as my mate for as long as I can remember. I would've given you the world, Aria. You can reject him as your mate!

Aria: What? You can't ask me to do that! Zi won't reject Akash. Not for you or anyone else. And you know the repercussions for going against your brother like this. This is not an appropriate conversation. You should go!

The doors swung open, and Akash stepped inside, along with Cedrick. Akash walked straight towards her.

Akash: Is everything ok here?

Lennix: Everything is fine brother!

Akash: Aria, you look upset!

Aria: I'm alright, just tired!

She glared at Lennix.

Akash: I ask once again, What's going on here?

Aria: Nothing, everything's fine!

Lennix: Everything is not fine ok!

She sighed, wishing Lennix would keep his mouth shut.

Lennix: You don't deserve Aria as your mate!

Akash's lip cursed an amused smirk.

Aria: Lennix!

Lennix: I was there for her growing up. I know her inside and out. What do you know about her, huh? Do you know her favorite color? How about her favorite flower? zor how her eyes flutter when she dreams! .....

Aria: Oh my ..... he's digging his own cave!

Akash: zi have all the time in the world to learn what I need to know about Aria!

Akash turned his gaze to her, looking calmer than expected.

Akash: I'd love to take you out after work!

Lennix rolled his eyes, glaring at her.

Aria; Sure, I'd like that, Akash!

Akash kissed her cheek, sending waves of lust through her body.

Akash: She's mine Lennix!

Akash calmly walked off, and Lennix huffed and stormed off without saying goodbye. Aria spent the rest of her workday busy and flustered until closing time.
Her heart fluttered when Akash brought her to a private gazebo in the park. The soft lights and music were breathtaking..

Akash: I hope you don't mind a private dinner outdoors. I didn't want to be in the company of prying ears and eyes!

Aria: This is beautiful. Thanks for putting together such a sweet first date!

Akash led her to the table and pulled a chair out before taking a seat across from her as she eyed up the plates of food.

Akash: I don't know what you like to eat, so I have a bit of everything!

Aria. How thoughtful, Thank You, Akash!

Akash: What are you hungry for?

Aria: I'll have the ummm ...... Roast Chicken!

Akash: Excellent choice!

Akash began eating, but she felt nervous eating Infront of him.

Akash: Are you alright?

Aria: I'm nervouse. I don't know you well!

Akash: Well, we're here to get to know one another. You can ask me anything!

Aria: I want to know some of your favorite things!

Akash: I love spending time with kids when we gather at the community center. I'd love to have kids of my own soon.

Aria: .......

Akash: I also, love being outdoors in the forests, although lately, it's been hard with a murderer on the loose!

Aria: I love forests too. I think that the biggest perk about living here!

Akash: And what about kids?

She squirmed in her seat as his eyes were burning with desire.

Aria: I don't know if I'm ready to be a mom yet. I've been so focused on figuring out who i am!

Akash's handsome eyes gazed into hers.

Akash: We have time to figure everything out. I have a question for you!

Aria: Ok!

Akash: What is your favoyfloeer and color and ...... I don't know ....... coffee flavor?

She laughed.

Aria: Why do you want to know that? Is it because Lennix made you feel bad?

Akash: He's right. I know nothing about my mate. I want to know everything!

Aria: My favorite color is pink, I love wildflowers ..... or any flowers, and I don't drink coffee. I lie green tea!

Akash: Consider those stored at the forfront of my brain.

Aria and Akash talked more, and the conversation went smoo. She learned more about his job as the town's detective, how close he and his family are, and his promise to always put the pack first.

Aria: He's not as scary as I imagined and quiet honorable! Any female in this pack would be lucky, but why don't I feel like I can love up to my role?

Akash: Are you alright?

Aria: I'm fine!

Akash: Come with me!

Akash stood up and held his hand out to her. She slipped her hands inside his, and he pulled her towards him. His hands firmly gripped her arms, and she got lost in his seductive gaze.

Akash: I know this is forward of me, but I have the urge to plaster my lips on my mate. With your consent, of course!

She felt a rumble moving through her, like a growl trying to escape. She wanted her mate. But she lowered her head in embarrassment, cheeks flushing bright red.

Aria: I'm sorry Akash. I'm not ready to kiss you yet!

Akash: You are going to make me work for it huh?

He pressed his fingers her chin, drawing her eyes up to meet his.

Akash: That's fair. Soon, I'll ha e you begging for me!

Aria: Ohhh

Akash: I have another question!

Aria: Ok!

Akash: If I help you figure out your past, can you promise me a future together?

Aria: You'll help me?

Akash: Only if you promise to stay here in Crecent Creek with me!

Aria: I told you I wouldn't reject you!

Akash: Want if you fund your family and they want you back?

Aria: Regardless of who my family is, they abandoned me, my place J's here with you, supporting our pack!

Akash cupped her cheek, his stunning eyes burning into hers.

Akash: There's somewhere I'd like to take you if you have time!

Aria: If our Alpha approves me being out past curfew!

Akash: I approve. You can consider this is your first assignment as Creek's Lunar!

Aria: Ok what is it?

Akash: I'd like you to join me on a visit to Brisket's house to play our respects to her parents!

Aria: Going to pay my condolences to Brisket's parents would boost my morale with the pack. I have babysat Brisket In the past and I'm sure her mother needs comfort. Alright. It'll be heartbreaking facing them, but sure they could use our support!

Akash gave her an approving grin as he cupped her face.

Akash: Spoke like a true Lunar. I'm happy to have you by my side, even through dark times like these!

Aria arrived at Brisket's house and kept close to Akash as they welcomed her inside.

Lydia: How lovely to see you both. What brings you two here?

Lydia and Mel are poor Brisket's parents.

Akash: We came to pay our respects!

Aria: How are you and Mel holding up?

Lydia looked confused as she glanced between them both.

Lydia: We're staying strong for the pack but losing our baby ......

Lydia weeped, and Aria felt called to help her. Aria hugged Lydia as she cried on her shoulder.

Aria: I'm sorry. We all feel a deep pain after losing sweet Brisket!

Lydia: I miss her so much!

Lydia wiped her eyes and took a deep breath.

Lydia: I know you'll do everything you can as our Alpha to stop this, Akash. Aria, Brisket always told me you were her favorite babysitter. She adored you!

Aria: I have so many great memories of your daughter!

Akash: I didn't know you babysat Brisket!

Lydia: Aria was here many weekends when Brisket was a young pup. If you don't mind me asking, why are you two together?

Akash: She's my mate and Crecent Creek's newest Lunar!

Lydia looked overjoyed as she beamed at them both.

Lydia: I had a bunch, but I didn't want to assume. Congratulations to you both!

Aria spent time visiting with Lydia, and seeing her smile made her visit worthwhile. Akash brought Aria home, and she found herself again list in his perfect eyes.

Akash: What ere you thinking about?

Aria: How much I enjoyed our date!

Akash: I also enjoyed my time with you, and I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Akash leaned in closet, and she felt an intense flutter In her stomach that travelled to her core. He raised an eyebrow and smirked, which didn't help masking her desire for him.

Akash; I can smell your need!

Aria: ......

He brushed his finger across her cheek and leaned in, his lips practically brushing hers. She almost kissed until she heard someone running towards her.

Lennix: Akash, where the hell have you been? We found a lead! Let's go!

Akash: I'm sorry, Aria!

Akash hurried off with Lennix towards the forest.

Aria: Akash waitttt!
