the end
I walked up the stairs, making my way to the rooftop. There was quite a few people, since it was a break after all. One particular caught my eye. I have never seen him, well I haven't seen any of these people since I am a new student here. He was blantly smoking a cigarette without a care in the world. I had to wait then. To wait to make this place my end. A song was heard. A loud, intoxicating sound that made everyone's breath hitch. An alarm went off, an emergency one. People ran beside me, pushing me and shoving me, some would scratch me on accident, others would step on me. But he was standing there, so calmly, as I watched him. Someone screamed "There is a an attack, hide! We need to run, they will bomb us" or something like that, but why would I care. As everyone left, I was left with him alone. His gaze was cold, but he looked at me. "What's your name?" He asked, I didn't reply. "Why aren't you running?" was his next question, to which I didn't take my time to answer to. "I am here to kill myself" I explained calmly, as I walked towards him, my suicide note still in my hands. He looked amused, as he glanced at me. He wasn't much taller than me too. "Why would you do that?" He questioned me curiously, as my answer was blunt "I can't tell you that. This note is from the dead to the living. The reason I end my life is here, but people can know once I have met the end. Why aren't you running?" I questioned the young boy. He exhaled one last time, before dropping his cigarette to the ground and tilting his head to the side."I don't feel like it.. I don't have the energy to, I am tired". His reply caught me off guard. He could have just walked out, for time we have been here, couldn't he? "I guess I'll kill myself with you then." were his words after some silence. Kill himself with me? "I can't let you die alone. The world is shitty as fuck." he started speaking before taking my hand, this stranger.. "I fear I would die alone otherwise, but.. Here we can die together. As strangers, but our souls shall roam this world and take care of the pain of others" the young man explained. His eyes were teary, unlike mine. Tears were running down my cheeks as it was coming. The end. The timer hit 0, before a missile hit the building under us. I felt it, him grasping my body and the world under us destroying.. But I wasn't dying alone. He was with me.. As I closed my eyes and felt the awful pain, comforted by the grasp of a stranger... We met our end. Or we hoped so.
