1. Tobgay

In 1959, when China invaded Tibet, a Tibetan man in his fifties who fled with the ruler Dalai Lama. He did not enter India with Dalai Lama but came to Bhutan. Here he joined the Education Department as a peon. The language of Bhutan and Tibetan are similar. He learned to speak Hindi, Nepali and a little English. He always had a smiling face. He was humble, innocent, service minded and happy. A person who finds happiness through simplicity.

2. Mr. Simon Tylor Young
Mr. Young's mother was a tribal woman of Bengal. A beautiful woman who came to work in the estate of a rich English man.
The owner was attracted by the wild beauty of her and married that tribal woman. When he had to leave India after independence, he gave the estate and a huge sum of money to his wife and children. Later she was seduced and married by an Afghan, who took all the property and abandoned her and the children. 'Young' sir is the son of that poor mother.

He speaks English very well. Studied up to class 12th. Mrs. Mercy Young, his wife was Montessori trained. They had three children. This is the background of Young Sir.

3. Rakesh sir

Mr. Rakesh, son of a Planning Commissioner in Delhi, studied at Delhi Public School and St. Stephen's college . He became a teacher in Bhutan to escape from his parents. He drinks a lot and smokes cannabis. All these were done when there was no class. But he was a good teacher.

On his way to Bhutan, Rakesh Sir met some errant women in Siliguri on the Indian border. Gonorrhea disease was obtained free from them. The symptoms started a few weeks after joining the school. Symptoms include unbearable itching. He was rolling and crying on the grass in the courtyard of his quarters, due to unbearable pain. The medical specialist at the military hospital could cure the disease. He was an example to the cultural decline of the capital city.

4. Philip Chetan

He is a lineman at the power plant in the military camp. He left his family at Punalur in Kerala, when he was studying in the third standard. He wandered around and reached 'Ha'. He worked as a civilian lineman assisting the Indian soldiers. Although he is a 3rd grader, he was better than an electrical engineer. His salary was Rs.200 . His food was from the military mess. Accommodation was free. He lead a free and happy life. I understood that education, status and money are not the measure of happiness.

India's different cultures coming together and progressing peacefully was seen first in the army camp. Temple, Masjid, Gurudwara and Church are functioning in the same building. People worship with mutual respect. Festivals of all religions are celebrated together. Seeing the human life not divided by God and religion , made a great mental transformation in me.

I understood India well by living in Bhutan!
