The Deal Made: A Tale of the Brokers
They all think you're making a deal with the the Devil, but that's not the case. You see, he doesn't care about your soul, he just wants your life... For a price, of course. And in this world full of "worthless lives", there are many people who go looking for him.
You can find him at the back-alley dive bar on sixth streert, the one with the red rose above the door... Can't miss him once you're there though, he's the pale figure at the back of the bar, the one that nobody else seems to see. He leans up against the wall like he's asleep, as he sits on the last barstool, dressed head-to-toe in black leather. His hair is long, black, and trails behind him like a curtain, but you will never see his eyes under that black cowboy hat... Still, once he sees you, he grins, and you know he's not human.
Whether you want to run or not at this point, and take your petty desires with you, is up to you. If not, then you will want to take your seat, on the barstool right next to him. He will never introduce himself. He will wait until you're ready, before leaning over with his leering grin.
"What do you need of me, fair lady," He may whisper in your ear. His breath may wash over you, but it won't smell like you might think a monster's breath would. Just of alcohol and cigarettes. "To seek out a creature such as I... Or are you merely looking for death?"
After, you will feel a shiver run down your spine, and he may grab your chin in his cold grasp to force you to look at him. You won't realize until then how hard you were trying not to look at him. If you're lucky, you may see a glimpse of his eyes under the hat, if you're smart, you will pretend you never saw anything.
"If that's the case, then I'm afraid I can't be of service. You'll have to find someone else, love." He may let you go after that, and laugh, before finishing. "After all, there are rules..."
