"What? No. Pfffttt. What drawings?" Draco squeaks, as he clearly crumples up some pieces of paper.
Pepper crosses her arms as more tears fill her eyes and they start rolling down her cheeks.
"That drawing." Daphne says as she snatches a paper from Draco and runs back to her room, Draco close behind her.
Pepper wipes her tears quickly. 'They can't know I'm crying over my stupidity because of a stupid boy.' She thought to herself. Daphne shoves the drawing at Pepper and she gasps. The paper has a gorgeous abstract pen drawing of herself with 'G.G.' written right underneath it, underlined three times. The way that 'G.G.' is written is the exact same as the note that was attached to the flowers.
She quickly fixes her face from shock and amazement, to irritation. She looks up at Draco. "Is this your handwriting?"
He snatches the paper from her, blushing. "Yeah. What about it?"
Pepper tries not to blush, but fails miserably. "N-nothing."
"Why did you both just turn red again?" Daphne asks innocently, looking up at them both.
"No reason. It's nothing. Uhmm. Go get a snack." Pepper quickly distracts her.
"Okay!" Daphne smiles and skips happily to the kitchen.
Pepper looks at Draco, the annoyance and irritation gone from her face. "Were you the one who gave me those flowers?" She asks very shyly.
Draco turns even more red. Almost completely scarlet at this point. "Uhmmm... If I said no, would you believe me?"
"Since you just said that, no. I would not believe you."
"Drat." He mutters
"Well... did you or did you not?"
"I did... is... is there a problem with that?" He asks, getting nervous.
Pepper walks over to him, stands on her tippy toes, (because yes, he is very much taller than her) and kisses him on the cheek. "Thank you." She whispers as she blushes.
"Um. Yeah sure.... No problem." Draco blushes again, and half smiles at her.
"I... I wad having a really bad day..." She mumbles.
"The day I got you the flowers? What happened?" Draco looks intrigued.
"Yeah... Cedric is... cheating on me..."
"Is? You haven't broken up with him yet?"
"No... I just ran off.... he was angry..." Pepper looks away.
"Oh, sweetheart." He hugs her.
Pepper stiffens in shock. After a moment, Draco realizes what he did, and releases Pepper from the embrace and takes a few steps back, shocked at himself.
"Stop calling me pet names." Pepper regains her balance.
Draco looks at the floor and nods. "Sorry about that..." He mumbles.
Pepper smiles a little at his reaction. Draco looks up at her for a brief moment and smiles a little as well before going back to his room. Pepper sighs as Daphne walks back into the room. "I ate my snack and cleaned it all up once I was done." Daphne smiles, clearly very proud of herself.
"Very good." Pepper smiles back at her.
"Where did Bubby go?" Daphne asks sitting down on the floor.
"His room."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
"Oh. Okay. Can we play now?"
"Sure. What do you want to play?" Pepper asks, sitting down next to Daph.
"House." Daphne smiles
"Alright. Who's got what role?"
"Um. I'm the child. You be my mom and.... Bubby will be your husband."
