The killer cyclone "Amphan" has wreaked havoc on West Bengal, India. The North and South 24 Parganas and Kolkata are devastated beyond recognition. Villages have drowned, thousands of houses have been razed to the ground rendering millions homeless. Roads, bridges, agricultural fields, trees, forests all are destroyed. Phone and internet connectivity have been severely disrupted. Most parts of the state are without electricity and water supply and almost all localities are waterlogged. Seventy two people have already been reported dead, many more injured, and God only knows how many thousands of birds and street animals have perished that night. This is the worst natural calamity West Bengal has faced in the last couple of centuries and the blow has aggravated manifold amidst the corona pandemic crisis.
We all have to heal, we all have to rebuild our lives in the months to come. And now more than ever we need the entire nation to stand by us in this dark hour. So please come together and pray for Bengal and her people. We need your support.
