Power Outage Part 1

Write a short story on what you should do if there was a widespread power outage and no one knew when it would be restored.
That was what I read when I got on Writco, after a day of lounging on my best friend's couch and binge watching my favorite anime series.
I sighed for the thousandth time this day and heaved my ass off the hammock, annoyed at the post.
But I swiped the phone again, groaning frustredly as curiosity got the better of me. I checked the tags and, surprisingly, a lot of people had responded.
I pursed my lips and poured myself a cup of OJ that was sitting on the table near me, gulping down the juice and placing it back on its coaster.
I shifted into a more comfortable position and stared out at the sky, my turned off phone laying on my stomach.
I only closed my eyes to the cool breeze flashing across my face when my phone rang.
Cursing my stupid ringtone, I picked up the phone, which had been teetering dangerously on the edge of my stomach, and smashed my thumb on the accept call.
"What do you want?" I growled.
"Now, is that the way to talk to your best friend?" a sweet voice rang out through the other end and I sighed again, my anger slipping away. I turned the volume to speakerphone and laid back down.
"Sorry but when this best friend interrupts my quiet time, there's bound to be some yelling," I rolled my eyes as I said that.
She gave a snicker. "But what's the problem, Nes?" I asked, studying my nails.
I could imagine her shrugging. "Nothing much. I just wanted to ask you- hey, hold on. Gary is trying to call me," Nes said quickly and I was put on hold, the line beeping.
Gary was Nes's boyfriend and his wavy brown hairs and devilish looks made him the perfect boyfriend material for Nes. I sat up, slipped my feet into some cross, grabbed my phone, and hurried toward the house, ignoring the half-full bottle of OJ.
I stepped through the open sliding doors and shivered under the freezing cold of the air conditioning.
Yes. I was that person who kept the air-conditioning on with an open door. Go get the police. I don't care.
